The tallest free-falling waterfall in the state - no need to say more. But there's more! The AC electric generator at the top of Bridal Veil Falls is one of the oldest still operating in the US. There is a sweet new trail leaving from the parking lot at the tailing ponds that will take you up to the base - cool down in the mist after a hot hike!

The 800+ acre swath of land that is the gateway to Telluride, Forever Wild due to the ceaseless efforts and donations of Telluride citizens to acquire the land and place a conservation easement on it. The map is wrong! Take the River trail right outside heading out of town and you will get there! A great place for an evening stroll, a longer family-friendly hike, beginner mountain biking, or just some peaceful solitude and meditation. TIP: Hike to or from Mountain Village via Boomerang Road!

The Classic Telluride hike - fun for the whole family! This trail also accesses some longer hikes up the Wasatch trail - take this all the way into Bridal Veil basin for a full-day adventure!
Bear Creek Falls is a beautiful waterfall just outside Telluride. The hike to the waterfall is about 5 miles round trip and moderate, following an old gravel road upstream to the falls. The trailhead is at the end of Pine street at the southeast corner of town - the River Trail will take you right to the trailhead! The views along the trail through the valley are just beautiful and lots of wildflowers. Near the end, Wasatch Trail splits to the right. There's a small waterfall here, but the main waterfall is another quarter mile further. This is a really scenic waterfall and definitely worth the moderate hike to visit.

Be sure to check out Telluride Theater's website and if there is a show - GO! Locally-run theater company with some world-class talent...If there is a Downlow happening go for some local flavor. Shakespeare in July is top-notch and perhaps in the most beautiful setting in the Universe. Check that the show is family-friendly - some are not but will be clearly marked as so.
