Next door to Holland’s is a Thai restaurant called House of Siam serving authentic Thai food, and we would also recommend The Doi Intanon, http://ambleside-thai-restaurant.com/in Ambleside. Both of these restaurants are owned and run by Thai and English families and are worth a visit.

Good for steaks and Sunday Lunch. This is an hotel with a good restaurant and micro brewery. It is half way from Bowness to Kendal on the road past the golf club and well worth the trip

A 5 minute drive from Bowness on the Windermere to Kendal road, is Stavely where you will find the very small coffee shop, Mr Duffins. Their coffees are excellent and they also sell packs of coffee to keep you going during your stay.
