The park is unique in Sweden since it is independent of the city university. Currently it is one of the larger botanical gardens in Europe, with its 175 hectares, which include a wild nature reserve in the Änggårdsbergen hills. This reserve is also the site of the Garden’s arboretum with copses of trees from many parts of the world, in scientifically ordered collections. The cultivated part of the Garden is about 40 hectares in area, of which about half consists of beds of plants. There are also extensive lawns and shrubberies. The symbol of the garden is a white wood anemone. These flowers carpet the valleys of the Woodlands and the Nature Reserve in the spring. The Botanical garden is open every day, all year round from 9 am until sunset.

The national Museum of World Culture opened in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2004. Its aim is to interpret the subject of world culture in an interdisciplinary way. The museum is situated next to the Universeum science centre and the amusement park Liseberg, and close to Korsvägen.[1] "The museum interprets the concept of world culture in a dynamic and open-ended manner. On the one hand, various cultures are incorporating impulses from each other and becoming more alike. On the other hand, local, national, ethnic and gender differences are shaping much of that process. World culture is not only about communication, reciprocity, and interdependence, but the specificity, concretion and uniqueness of each and every individual." The Volvo Museum in Gothenburg covers the development of Sweden's leading vehicle manufacturer Volvo, from the first ÖV 4 to the current cars, trucks, buses and other products. The museum also contains many other exhibits, including Gabrielsson’s and Larson’s joint desk from the pioneering years. There are also displays of Volvo Aero and Volvo Penta products. The museum is open daily except Mondays and public Swedish holidays. It is located in the Arendal area on the island Hisingen at the sea, about 10 km west of Gothenburg city centre. Lovely blocks for coffee and shopping. Haga is one of Gothenburg's oldest neighborhoods and the name comes from the pastures that existed here in the 1600 's. Now Haga's car-free streets lined with small cafes and shops interspersed in the façades typical of Gothenburg. Haga is within easy walking distance of the city centre, but if you're going by tram you can get off at either the Haga kyrka or Järntorget. The main street is called Haga Nygata and stretches from Vasastan in one end to Linnaeus in the other. Shopping and refreshments goes perfectly and one is not as fun without the other. Haga lends itself perfectly for the perfect occasion. Shopping is varied, ranging from the hat shop Stiernglans to toy shop Little Karin and marzipan producer Bräutigams and more. There are several fine home furnishing stores along Haga Nygata, while shopping for clothes, antiques, tea, spices and olive oil. In short, there is a little of each, but it's small-scale and unique that applies because many stores are only available right here.

The trendy inner city neighbourhood. Magasinsgatan is a given destination for shopping and coffee as well as eating out or grabbing a drink when the evening comes. Trendy shops, restaurants and bars all offer something special, no matter if it comes to barista skills, local clothing brands or restaurant decor. The street Magasinsgatan is located in the inner city – stretching from Lilla Torget towards Vasastan and crossing streets like Kyrkogatan, Kungsgatan och Vallgatan on its way. It was first named Arentsgatan after one of the master buildings involved in planning the city in 1621. Magasinsgatan got its present name a few decades later, when a large storehouse (a magasin in Swedish) was built in the block Neptunus. Emma och Malena is one of the local brands found here. Da Matteo has two cafés in the neighourhood. The neighbourhood around Magasinsgatan is the home of many local or Swedish fashion brands like Acne, Velour and Emma och Malena. Other popular choices include lifestyle and fashion shop Grandpa and the interior design paradise Artilleriet. Also, don't miss the hidden gem Floramor och Krukatös. The small pottery and flower shop is found in the backyard behind café Da Matteo at Magasinsgatan 17.
