I recommend the access from Shull's Mill Road to take my favorite hike up to Rich Mountain, the spiral on the NW side of the map here. Amazing view, peaceful, and quiet.

The quickest access to the BRPW from my house. A great way to see the mountains and get some quiet. Head south to Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and Asheville. Head north for my favorite waterfall.
