Food scene

The Starlight is a staple in Terlingua, located in the historic Ghost Town. The Starlight opens nightly at 5:00, dinner is served until around 10:00 and the bar is open until 12:00 (ish). During busy periods there is often a wait so be sure to get there early to reserve a place in line, reservations are only offered for groups of 10 or more. While you wait, enjoy what the Terlingua Trading Company has to offer next door. Grab a cold Mexican coke or a beer and enjoy the famous Porch. Oftentimes musicians will gather to play while you enjoy the views into Big Bend National Park. You can spot Mules Ear in the distance!

Consejos para la ciudad

Qué empacar

Drinking water, sunblock, bug spray, sturdy hiking shoes.

Being prepared is key in Terlingua! If you think you might need something on your trip it is better to bring it in with you. There are 2 local stores, one just down the road with ice, water, and other basic supplies. Cottonwood is located in Study Butte, a 45 minute drive from Impresario and has a good selection of groceries, including basic camping supplies.

Junior Park Ranger Program

If you are venturing into Big Bend National Park, be sure to stop at any visitor's center and ask for an activity book. After the activities are completed have your child ask a Ranger to review it! They will become a Junior Park Ranger complete with a badge and all! This is highly recommended for families to do, everyone will learn something new and have a great time!
