Food scene

Delicious Italian food and fresh pasta in a cozy setting that's perfect for dinner or brunch. There's indoor and outdoor patio space for dining. The Michelin-guide restaurant is unpretentious and you can typically find reservations or walk in if you're looking for a low-key dinner. Try the sweet potato agnolotti, you won't be disappointed!

Small restaurant with creative French-Canadian dishes. Great wine selection and a unique twist on classics like roast chicken and caesar salad. If you can get a reservation for brunch, make sure to go early enough so you can get their ricotta pancakes before they run out.

Some of the best wood-fired pizza in NY set in a dark, rustic restaurant. They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait (but don't worry there's great bars near by to grab a cocktail while you wait). You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas, but my personal favorite is Hellboy with Mike's hot honey. If you can't make it in for dinner (or even if you can) they also have a slice shop around the corner for a quick lunch or if you feel like ordering in.

A Greenpoint neighborhood establishment, don't miss out getting some donuts and a BEC (bacon egg and cheese) for breakfast during your stay. You can sit at the counter or get it to go. There's always a line but don't worry it goes very quickly -- keep in mind it's cash only.

Newer to Greenpoint, this a fun bar to get some drinks or play some pool. On the weekends, it can tend to get crowded as they have an upstairs with a DJ

Sightseeing

Walk along the water front, hang in the park or go down the pier to catch a great view of the Manhattan skyline. If you're looking for a fun way to travel into the city or over to Dumbo, take a ride on the ferry for about the same price as the subway
