Located in the southern most point in the ACT, Tidbinbilla is most worth the drive. The Park Rangers are very knowledgeable, the Forest walks are amazing, the Playground is a delight for children and there are more than plenty of opportunities to get up and close with local wildlife, including Emus, Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombats, Reptiles and Birdlife.

You don't have to trail to the Northern Territory to experience a Waterfall. The ACT has its own magnificent Gibraltar Falls. Swim in the pools at the top of the Falls or explore the river below it. The view of the surrounding area is gorgeous.

Driving is the only way

Canberra is much more than National Institutions and Museums. the ACT offers a magnificent array of wildlife and scenery unlike some other areas of Australia. If you are visiting the ACT for only a short time, then driving the Western edge of the Territory is the best way to see everything. Locals spend day trips out at the local rivers for picnics, barbecues or hiking. There are some keen adventurers who ride, walk or run along the Centenary Trail. Remember to have a good tank of fuel before you head out as there is no petrol stations until you reach Tharwa in the far south.
