Cowes is constantly growing with estates popping up everywhere but what doesn’t change is the lovely country courtesies and customer service. Everyone is friendly and accomodating and make you feel right at home.
Your apartment is nestled in a quiet residential suburb where we know our neighbours. At night all you hear are the occasional plovers flying at night, and maybe the wind in the cooler months.
Dimples have live bands advertised all the time if you want to sit back and be entertained over a few drinks, and the Phillip Island Hotel often gets in live bands as well.
There’s heaps of places to have a quiet drink as well with Grenache Wine Bar, and Ocean Reach in the main st.

Honestly this is our ‘go to’ place. The Southern Fried Chicken is exceptional. Melt in your mouth chicken with yummy crispy coating. The meals are generous and there’s local entertainment on weekends.
If you like IPA’s try out their house made beers on tap. My partner would recommend the pale ale.

Our family love Thai food and there is none better outside of Thailand itself. Cooked by this lovely Thai family, this food has to be the busiest and most sort after takeaway on the Island. If you want Thai you need to ring early otherwise you will struggle to get through.
Of course you can dine in and not wait long at all. Thai on the Island is tucked away behind ‘G’day Tiger’ on Thompson. Definitely check it out and let us know if you think its the best Thai you’ve eaten! Takeaway menu provided in the apartment.

Isola is the best Pizza on the island in our humble opinion although Jessies Takeaway pizza is pretty good as well. Isola have wonderful service, great cocktails, and good variety on the menu.

Isola Di Capri
2 Thompson AveIsola is the best Pizza on the island in our humble opinion although Jessies Takeaway pizza is pretty good as well. Isola have wonderful service, great cocktails, and good variety on the menu.
Sit inside or out, you have lovely water views regardless of where you sit.
Desserts on the menu are great, or drop in next door for a wonderful ice cream in a cone. The flavours are true to their name, like no other flavours we’ve experienced anywhere else!
If you love a good steak or feasting on a lobster this place if for you. The food is amazing and caters to all levels of appetite.
Highly recommend this place as we frequent there for our steak and seafood fix!

Pino’s is a great place if you love your Italian food. Located in Thompson ave (main street) Pino’s has a large menu options, and is possibly the biggest restaurant for seating capacity.
Definitely need to book in peak season even with this large seating capacity.

Getting onto Phillip Island
In peak seasons the traffic coming onto the Island can be horrendous. Plan to arrive early morning and avoid after work on Friday nights, Saturday mornings. It can add 45-60mins to your trip. Off peak you are pretty safe, just google before you leave and check how the traffics flowing.
