Several good places to eat: LA Banca, upscale Italian eatery on Main St.; 2SP (2 Stones Pub) a local brewery with good beer & food, Crooked Hammock - a welcoming and family centered brewery with good beer & food, First State Brewery - another interesting local brewery with good food & beer. There are also many chain restaurants available. Fun Fact: the film 'Dead Poets Society' was filmed in part in Middletown at the beautiful St. Andrews School, as well as in Old New Castle, near Wilmington, DE, which is another historic area at the head of the Delaware River, also full of history.

Washington College, one of the oldest liberal arts colleges, is located here and adds to the vibe of the town. It's a lovely old historic city with many beautiful historic homes and a vibrant food scene. Don't miss the Chestertown Saturday Farmer's market, which takes place from 8 - noon every Saturday and features delicious local foods, baked goods and produce & artisan vendors in abundance!
