Not only is it one of the best bars in the world, its specific niche (Amaro based cocktails, no syrups, no fruit juices, nothing shaken) is amazing for people who want to step outside of their comfort zone and learn a thing or seven.

Mace Bar is the cutting edge of cocktail specialists. Their constantly changing menu never ceases to amaze. And their seafood is surprisingly solid. Stay away from the vegan mac and cheese though.

The Up & Up is quiet and cozy. One of the few places that puts the names of their bartenders on their menu. Small elite team that I had the pleasure of working alongside—so I'm more than a little biased when I say these are true artists. Tell them Harry sent you. Probably won't get you a shot unless Ismael's working, but maybe you'll get a few stories.

Not a lot of high-end Mexican joints. Go here for quality food and excellent service, but most of all to try their incredible selection of Agave spirits. This is a mostly unknown, neighborhood spot, so you may be surprised by the hospitality. Cheers :)

The worst thing about this place is that it does not have a Happy Hour. I still don't understand the concept. But it's sort of a tiki bar, it has some good drinks, and has a knock off version of an In-and-Out burger for 3 times the price (it's the only way you'll get anything like it on this coast though so I say it's worth it). The main thing though is that this is the closest place I've seen to a singles bar in this area. Before the pandemic at least, it was a great place to meet people and create stories :)

I had to include a dive. This place usually has Star Wars playing and a pretty fun vibe. But the important thing is the drinks aren't an arm and a leg like most of the other places on this list. You can also bring your own food which is pretty cool.

What can I say? This is the most hyped up spot in the world, and probably deserves it. That vintage eggnog will knock your socks off. Expect a long wait

Some of the best comedy shows in the city when you can't get into the Cellar. It has a roomier and classier vibe, but it's the whiskey list that puts it on this list. A comedy club has no business with a menu that great but they really swing for the fences. Hats off to them

Excellent vegetable forward menu but still has meat for the rest of us. Extremely "dietary inclusive" ("no dairy? No problem!" sort of vibe). But the real reason it's here is because you can catch me behind the stick on a Sunday. Swing by right when we open for some local specials and that's all I'll say about it ;)
