Cliff Gilker Park is an approx. 10-15 min drive from the Spyglass Hideaway Suite.
Location: Drive North on Hwy 101 towards Sechelt. Cliff Giiker Park is on the right hand side of Hwy just before you reach Roberts Creek Road & before the Sunshine CoastGolf Course.
Area: 60.4 hectares (149 acres)
Amenities: This beautiful woodland park features five kilometres of forest trails, unique wooden bridges spanning foaming creeks, a multitude of waterfalls, and a wheelchair accessible trail with a viewing platform. The park also has a grass playfield, two baseball diamonds and a playground. The sports field has lights for night time use. There are picnic sites and washroom facilities. The park has an on-site caretaker.

Impressive second growth forest trails leading to spectacular views of Howe Sound, the North Shore mountains, Keats, Gambier and Bowen Islands, Gibsons and Georgia Strait.
The staircase located on the east side of Soames Hill (green trail) has 434 steps and over 333 feet of railing. You will be rewarded with a spectacular view at the top.
Location: From the traffic light at the junction of Highway 101 and North Road in Gibsons, proceed 1.9 kms along North Road toward the Langdale ferry terminal. Turn right onto Chamberlin Road and after 200 metres turn left onto Bridgeman Road. 300 metres along Bridgeman is the park entrance. Along Chamberlin is another park entrance on Esperanza.
Area: 39.3 hectares (97 acres)
Amenities: 4.2 km of trails weave through Soames Hill. Pleasant footpaths lead throughout the park and to the top of Soames Hill. There are three view sites (Gibsons, Keats Is. and Bowen Is.).

As you are heading in visit Skookumchuck Bakery & Cafe for a delicious Cinnamon Bun & Coffee.

Skookumchuck means Strong Water. Tide water is forced thru Skookumchuck Narrows & forms the Sechelt Rapids. The difference in water levels between one side of the rapids and the other can exceed 2 metres in height.

If it is big waves you are looking for check out the Flood Tide which can be viewed from the Roland Point viewing area. The whirlpool & tidal pool activity is found during the Ebb Tide & can be viewed from the North Point viewing area.

An interior featuring unique low-ceiling designed with the essence of Japanese architecture offers intimate warm atmosphere. Extended outside deck is made of local cedar and brings privacy and enjoyment to watch activities on the main street of Gibsons Landing.

A fresh water estuary is also at the tip of the park. The beach is rocky and you will need good water shoes to swim. Windsurfing and fishing are popular at this beach. There are no public washrooms at this site however you should find a porta potty along the beach. The sun is all day and the cruise ships can be seen passing by. One of the nicest spots!
