Breakfast & Brunch

As the name suggests The Salty Dog Cafe is dog friendly & the closest beachside Cafe to us at Fisherman's Beach. Whites Beach is at the end of Horseshoe Bend Road & is the dog Beach in Torquay. We often walk down to (the end of Horse Shoe Bend Road) & onto & along the beach to the Salty Dog Cafe grab a coffee & walk back along the beach. Over the summer months you can walk dogs on the Beach (& off leash) before 9am & after 7pm each day. We recommend this at least one morning of your visit to watch the sun come up over the water!

Surf Spots

Bells beach is a classic surf beach, world famous for its representation in the movie Point Break (although it wasn’t filmed there) and for being home to a world tour surf competition which awards the famous Bells Trophy to winners. Can get pretty cold there when the wind whips up! Most locals wear a 2/3 wetsuit over winter & a 1/2 wetsuit in the warmer months

Jan Juc gets a lot of surf action – mainly due to the fact that it’s the closest decent beachbreak in the vicinity of the quality reefs found in the Torquay area. Located in front of the Torquay golf club, Juc can serve up some quality beachbreaks when the right conditions come together. Thing is, when the conditions are right here, its often firing at the nearby reefs. This means a lot of people use it as a back-up spot when the swell is getting a touch small or the wind is getting into Bells and Winki.

Just one point down from the famous Victorian point break of Bells Beach is it's little brother, Winkipop. Like Bells, it is a right hand point break that is world class on a good day. Try and surf here early during the week, weekends get packed. On smaller swells you can paddle straight out, but if it is larger it is safer to paddle in off the beach.

Point Addis would have to be one of the most picture perfect spots on the Great Ocean Road! Point Addis is sheltered from large swells and strong winds, giving the beginner or more advanced surfer the chance to hone their skills in relatively safe conditions. Point Addis is a National Park so be aware of the flora and fauna when you visit, use the paths and take you rubbish home
