Maximo Bistrot’s younger sibling, Lalo! has a more laid back menu with delicious breakfast offerings set around a large communal table. Dishes might look simpler, but they’re just as good, and prices are generally cheaper. Great place to go with your laptop to check up on work while getting coffee and treats. We love the chilaquiles, the french toast, the cheese burger, the fried calamari, the pizza margherita and the smoked salmon sandwich.

We have a soft spot for Cachito since we used to live next door to it, but I genuinely believe you’ll love it as well if you’re looking for some comfort food. Wonderful quiches and pies. Their cronchas are also amazing and they fly off the shelves really quickly.

I’ve attempted twice to have breakfast at Niddo without success. The queues were more than I could reasonably bear and I ended up going back to Loose Blues. Still, friends that are more patient than me rave about perfect comfort food.
