Beach

My most favourite place on Lanzarote. A hidden beach, only accessible through a 45 min steep, downhill hike. I do not recommend it if you have small children, have good shoes or do not like hiking. The walk back up the mountain can be tough. If you make it, this beach is breathtaking. I've often been the only person at this beach which is multiple kilometres long. To get here, put in Google Maps: "Camino de los Gracioseros" https://goo.gl/maps/dPrvcjDkECaPh96A6

Great beach in the very north of Lanzarote. Also not very known, but very beautiful. The water is very clear and well-suited for smaller children as there are no waves.

Famara was recently voted one of the five best beaches of Spain. The beach is especially well-suited for surfing. I learned how to surf here a few years ago and there are a lots of surf schools here (if you're in Playa Blanca, try "Kaboti" - they are great people and teachers and they take you from Playa Blanca in the morning and bring you back in the afternoon). I would only come here for swimming if there are no clouds, otherwise it gets quite cold. Also, be aware of the strong currents.

Bus

Despite what you might expect, buses on Lanzarote work very well. I have often travelled without a car and all buses I took were reliable, on time, had AC and were comfortable. Of course, they only bring you to the main places and not to hidden beaches/sights particularly in the north of Lanzarote
