The Wynwood Walls was conceived by the renowned community revitalizer and placemaker, the late Tony Goldman in 2009. He was looking for something big to transform the warehouse district of Wynwood, and he arrived at a simple idea: “Wynwood’s large stock of warehouse buildings, all with no windows, would be my giant canvases to bring to them the greatest street art ever seen in one place.” Starting with the 25th–26th Street complex of six separate buildings, his goal was to create a center where people could gravitate to and explore, and to develop the area’s pedestrian potential.

While the main exhibitions are indoors, the Museum has programmed several of the exterior walls to present the work of today’s top graffiti artists.
The only perfume I’ll ever wear again, this place is the real deal. You don’t even know what you’re missing out on until you step inside and experience the smell of pure bliss. All perfumes/colognes are made fresh and are completely worth the high price tag.
Ask the manager Doug for some advice and you’ll smell like a million bucks in no time. You can find lighter scents like rose 31 and jasmine 17 to darker, husky scents like patchouli 24 (my favorite scent) and vetiver 46.

Nadine is amazing and so sweet! Her food is ridiculously good. I advise to call before hand to pick up since it may take a little longer since she does all the cooking herself. It is definitely worth the weight best Jamaican food i have had.

The food here is ultra fresh – signatures include home-made soft, warm tortillas and to drink, freshly muddled margaritas. If you find yourself visiting this Wynwood hotspot in the evening, venture down the corridor and past the restrooms, where you’ll find a hidden bar lit by novena candles. Dark and windowless with a decorative tiled floor and prominent DJ booth, it’s the kind of place where losing track of time is encouraged.

I found out about Bakan when driving through Wynwood one day. There was a new spot open and I stopped to stare out of my window to the discouragement of drivers behind me. The building was just so well done and aesthetically pleasing, I knew they had built it like this to get more interest and it worked!
I put Bakan on the top of my to-try list, full of restaurants and bars, and made it there to see more of the architecture and design and sample some some drinks.
I didn’t try any food during my visit, but the drinks were out of this world delicious. I went during the tail end of happy hour when all the drinks are 50% off and tried both the mango petacon with mezcal, mango, and mint and the sera melon, sera sandia with mezcal, lime, and watermelon.
Everything tasted so fresh it was like they had grown the melons on the roof! Mezcal is my favorite spirit and heavily featured on the drinks menu along with tequila and other Mexican inspired ingredients. I’m definitely coming back to indulge in some tacos and guacamole next time!
