About 150m offshore, this sanctuary protects a reef system known as Little Henty Reef. Two sections of the reef, the inner and outer reef, are usually exposed and separated by a narrow channel known as 'The Gap'. Composed of sandstone they support wonderful intertidal and subtidal reefs which are packed with sea life.
Visitors exploring the intertidal reef may come across many invertebrates including sea snails, tubeworms and abalone. In slightly deeper waters there are beautiful seaweed gardens including towering Bull Kelp forests and beds of delicate green and red s

A must see if you are heading towards Beech Forest!
Located along the Aire Valley Road this picnic area is a delightful place to stop and enjoy a picnic or just a short stroll into the forest. The Californian Redwood forest (Sequoia trees), were planted alongside the river in 1939.

Marriners lookout provides a unique birds eye view of Apollo Bay's beaches & township. Its about a 10 minute walk (slightly up hill). Once you get to the lookout point which is a grassy paddock area you may like to stop for a picnic.

Barham River Road is a stunning road that hugs the Barham River. There is a picnic area that is the ideal place to stop for the day in the hot weather to escape from the heat on the banks of the river. You will see a picnic area called "paradise picnic area" about half way up Barham River Road. If you cross the road you and head towards the river you will be able to stop under the huge tree ferns and enjoy the scenery. If its hot you may even like to go for a swim! At the end of the road there is the old Marriners Waterfall Carpark and Walk - the waterfall is still very much there and as beautiful as ever but there are signs at the entry saying it is closed.
