Puting Buhangin (White Sand) is a bare sandbar in the middle of Sulu Sea not far from Surya, about 15-20mins boat ride only. You can enjoy snorkeling around this area. We can arrange a boat trip for you to this destination for only P2,500 for half a day. Tip: Bring sunblock, goggles, an umbrella, drinks, and some snacks with you to fully enjoy the place.
Puting Buhangin Aborlan
Puting Buhangin (White Sand) is a bare sandbar in the middle of Sulu Sea not far from Surya, about 15-20mins boat ride only. You can enjoy snorkeling around this area. The jump off point called Honda Bay wharf, is located just outside the city of Puerto Princesa approximately 80kms north or 1hr and 40mins drive from Surya. Some of the popular islands within the straight include: Onuk, Starfish, Sicsican, and Punta Sebaring. The islands of Balabac is dubbed as “The Maldives of the Philippines” because they have similar shallow and crystal clear waters. To get to Balabac, drive for 4 hrs to Buliluyan Port then hop on a boat to Balabac. The travel time is less than an hour. This was declared a National Cultural Treasure in 2011. The place is not just historic but has amazing views of the West Philippine Sea and is only 78kms southwest (approx 1.5 hours drive) from Surya. Highly recommended to all adventure seekers! Purchase your tickets at the local tourism office in Quezon Town where you will be guided to the Tabon museum before you can head out to the cave so you can get a better glimpse and history of what you will see inside the cave.
