One of the most picturesque villages in Hertfordshire and a popular filming spot for tv shows such as Inspector Morse. There is a nice pub. You can either drive straight into the village, or park at the Bridgewater Monument and walk down the hill into the village.

Recently renovated, this lovely canal-side pub is the closest boozer to our Air BnB, and has a lovely cosy vibe. Great food too, and a large outdoor space for summer socialising. We enjoy the Sunday night pub quiz here.

Berkhamsted is an old market town and the market still operates along the High Street on a Wednesday and Saturday morning. There is also a visiting Farmers' market on the first Sunday of every month. We recommend the bread & bakery stall.
