The Eagle chairlift is, located here. Take a ride from the top or bottom to enjoy the beautiful views. There are parks at the top as well as cafes/restaurant and at dusk the kangaroos come out in masses to eat the grass.

A favourite place to visit for boutique clothing stores, great fish and chips and the famous vanilla slice. From here you can catch the ferry across to Queenscliff for the day.

Many wineries, restaurants, walking tracks, recreation reserves and quaint village shopping centre. The Epicurean is a great place to eat and I recommend a visit to Red Hill Cheese to taste and then purchase some lovely locally made sheep and goats cheeses.

Cómo moverse

Limited taxis but plenty of Ubers

If you are wanting to head out and not drive, there are not a lot of options. There are buses that go and up and down the Peninsula from Frankston to Portsea but they do not traverse the Peninsula. Trains from Melbourne to Frankston are easy and frequent. You can wait a while for taxis in McCrae but there are usually plenty of Uber drivers around.

Bathers, beach towels, picnic rugs and walking shoes

There are many beaches to choose from but in the summer months the foreshore beaches can be very busy and parking difficult. Try Shoreham, Balnarring, Merricks beaches on the Westernport Bay side of the Peninsula. There are many places to take a picnic lunch as well so bring your walking shoes to burn some calories before you feast on your Peninsula-supplied gourmet feast
