Manly has something (or many things) for everyone! If you're into food, Manly is a foodies paradise. There are so many excellent restaurants and cafes to choose from I can't possibly mention them all here. Some of my favourite restaurants are Hugo's on Manly Wharf (gourmet pizza, cocktails, seafood and a lovely view), good for lunch or dinner. Saki on the wharf is also great for a special japanese meal. If you like Thai food, Manly Gourmet Thai is delicious and cheap. The Pantry on Manly beach is a beautiful spot for breakfast or lunch. The walk around to Shelly Beach is a must and the Boathouse cafe there is great for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. You can continue on the path beyond Shelly Beach and explore beautiful and historic north head. The rooftop bar at the Greenhouse is lovely. The New Brighton hotel also has a rooftop bar with a younger crowd. There are several pubs and bars in which to enjoy an afternoon bevy. If you are into sports and activities, you'll find a plethora of choices in Manly. Hire a surfboard and hit the waves, or take a surf lesson from Manly Surf School. Hire a bike from Manly Cycles near the wharf and explore the many paths and roads, often offering expansive views. Rollerblading or skateboarding more your thing? Hire some equipment from Skater HQ and head to the Manly skate park or ride along the beachfront boardwalk. The harbour side of Manly offers paddle board and kayak hire, plus the opportunity to see the harbour from height with a parasailing experience. On the weekend you can join in on a volleyball game on Manly beach... visitors welcome! There's tennis courts for hire and regular barefoot bowls plus several yoga studios to visit. And if you're keen to just sit back and enjoy a beer, visit Four Pines microbrewery. On the weekend there is a local artisan market... a great place to buy some souvenirs. And there are many great surf shops and boutiques to browse at your leisure.
