Ethical Animal Attractions

Experience the reptiles that call Florida home - I love this place particularly because most of their animals are rescued or surrendered critters! This sets them apart from other animal farms just looking to make an extra buck! The facility is extremely informative and it's definitely worth a visit! You can even hold a baby croc if you dare!

Downtown St. Petersburg is a gem in it's own right. You can find upscale bars on Beach Dr or hit the divey bars on Central Ave. First Friday (of the month) is a great drinking night for those who like a little party in their life. Also, the 2nd Saturday of the month DTSP hosts an Art Walk where you can meet local artists! The downtown area also has lots of art galleries and museums, a marina and plenty of waterfront parks.

Once dubbed America's most beautiful beach, Siesta Key is a must see if you are planning a longer visit. It is about an hours drive from my home (very scenic though as you will go over the skyway bridge!) and downtown Sarasota is not far from the beach. You can easily make an entire day out of exploring St. Armands Circle while catching a serious tan!

A personal favorite of mine! Caladesi Island is the perfect all day event in the sun on an "island" with very few people esp if you go during the week. You have to take the ferry from HONEYMOON ISLAND about 45 - 60 minutes away from my home to get here. You can rent kayaks on the island and explore the mangroves, see manatees, dolphins and the like! Relax on the beach all day and collect shells. It's fantastic!
