This is actually a place many Ballard-ites take for granted, but it's really cool! It's a gorgeous, arboretum style park as well, with a salmon fish ladder this is packed with salmon in July and August. The locks are how boats go from the Lake Washington and Lake Union out to The Sound without having to worry about tides.

We will walk or ride our bikes from our house to here, walk down the stairs, skip rocks into The Sound, walk back up the stairs, and treat ourselves to an espresso while lounging in the Adirondack chairs as a reward for our efforts.
