Food Scene

14 Rue du Dr Tizon
If you like seafood, this is the place to go. Home of oyster production, local moules are also available in season. With so much competition all the restaurants work hard to deliver a great experience. We have our favourites of course.

A small town, with a big history. There's a menhir to the south of the town, a plaque to the Royal House of Stuart, with a claim the Stuarts came from this town, a high street full of ancient wood-clad houses and a lively Saturday market.

A town that combines everyday living with history. There's a tank from WWII outside the park, an ancient cathedral, the holy books from Mont St Michel and a thriving shop and restaurant scene. It was the archbishop of Avranches who was inspired to build Mont St Michel.

Parks & Nature

We walk our dog here when it's very hot, as it's lovely and shaded. There's a boating lake and zip wires for the more adventurous. There are a couple of marked walks, or just choose to get lost!

There's a circular walk from the chapel, with stunning views of the salt marshes and of Mont St Michel in the distance. In the quiet season you might have the whole walk to yourself. It's a good blackberry picking spot too.

Arts & Culture

This town has the buzz of a 'lived-in' town. Follow the ancient cobbled street from the town centre down to the Port. This was the furthest spot inland that goods could be shipped on the Rance.

As well as providing the basics, a few butchers specialise in pre-sale lamb, which is lamb raised on the local salt-marshes. There's a fishmongers (poisonniere) to order the all important fruits de mers. Have a local for the traiteur who sells products made from pork... there are models of little pigs above the shop sign.
