Great place to let your hair down.
It is popular with the trendy after work crowd - but as most of the work crowd is from the tech firms - there aren't as many suits around.
This place is pretty good for watching sport as well, but the place still maintains a traditional Irish pub feel.
These guys order out for pizzas for you, and also use one of of the local chip shops to supply baskets of chips and sausages in the evening - just enough to keep the hunger away.

The food here is really good.
medium priced Italian, that changes its menu regularly enough - although there are some favorites on the pizza menu that don't change that much!
You will need to book this place most of the time. It isn't that easy to get in by just turning up....you may have to wait an hour.

Thought to be one of the best coffee shops in Dublin. The name means 3rd floor espresso: a reference to where the owner lived and trained himself to be an award winning barista.

3 mins walk from the house... Japanese place. There are a few of these restaurants in Dublin, this one only opened in 2017. Reasonably priced, good reviews, very convenient. It is opened until 10 pm, so if you arrive late and need to eat but don't fancy going into the city, this is perfect.

This is the nearest grocery store that you can find most everything. Food is a little on the expensive side - but that is the price of convenience for inner city grocery.
They also have an inhouse Insomnia coffee shop, and a donut specialty store.
