Southside Good Eats

Some great places to eat on the Southside within walking distance.
We love the feel of this place. The burgers are gourmet! Split the basket of fries. They make great specialty drinks too.

Hands down best breakfast! This is locally owned (owners live in our neighborhood) and whole family works it. I recommend the corned beef hash-trust me! Delicious. I don't know how they take eggs, bacon and toast and turn it into the best simple breakfast, but they do! Read their story on the menu-wonderful people. Only warning-sometimes there is a line to sit down.

Like crepes? This place is for you! Get the savory and sweet plate-nutella and banana is delicious. Comes with a side salad and fruit. This is now called "State of Confusion" and is a restaurant/bar located in what used to be a large upscale junkyard. Large outside patios space with TV's. In the winter, they use "igloos" to keep you warm. Wood fire grilled meats and veggies. Very fun for drinks or dinner!

Best ice cream EVER! My personal favorite is the chocolate, coconut, almond crunch. It is made locally in small batches and they have seasonal flavors. They sell it by the ounce so you can tell them how much you want in your cone or cup (one scoop is a lot!).

If you get a chance to check out the Edwin, do it! It's really quite the showcase for Chattanooga. There is a lot of local art throughout this upscale hotel. The rooftop bar is fantastic and overlooks the river and Walnut Street bridge. There is also a coffee shop and restaurant, neither of which I have tried to "yelp" before you go.
