Richmond Racecourse is the best preserved 18th through to 19th Century racecourse in England. Race meetings were held until 1891, its interest and significance lie not only in the remaining buildings, albeit some partially demolished, but also in the fact that the course itself is essentially laid out. On a good day this walk offers fantastic panoramic views, even on a not so good day it is still invigorating. The racecourse is about 1 mile from the centre of Richmond. You can walk from Primrose to the racecourse however you will need to walk quite a steep hill to get there. There is a car park at DL10 4TG. This is a good walk if you have dogs, open fields and lots of exploring for your four legged friend.
