Castlegregory is a small village about 10km from Cloghane. Surfing is great here. Head to Castlegregory and on to the Maharees where you will find Watersports on your right side as you drive out the coast road and Jamie Knox surf centre on your left side a little further on. Boards and wetsuits can be hired and lessons booked. Contact 087 9748088/066 7139411 Horseriding on the beach, contact O Connors pony trekking at 066 7139216. Spillanes in the Maharees a popular spot for pub grub especially after a surfing outing. Golf, a lovely 18 holes links course along the coast line. Contact Castlegregory Golf Links 066 7139444 Glenteenassig Forest Park 450 hectare area of Coillte woodland, with mountain views and a lake. The start of this walk is on the main road, please see google maps for exact start point. A Spar supermarket is available for shopping in Castlegregory.

This is the start of the walk at Faha ridge If you only want to visit the start of the route just go as far as the Grotto, a 20 minute walk from the road.

Continue out through Cloghane Village. Take the first road uphill to your left, continue to a T-junction and turn left towards Faha. Drive on to where the road ends. This is the start of the walk at Faha ridge If you only want to visit the start of the route just go as far as the Grotto, a 20 minute walk from the road.

Siopa Piobal in Cloghane will have your essentials and fresh bread daily from Bacus Bakery O’Connors in Cloghane Village do food and drink most days, pub grub during the day and restaurant menu in the evenings. Weekend nights you will enjoy traditional Irish music.A mere stroll from the house. Suggest booking at busy times 066 7138113 The Bog road walk Turn right at the end of the driveway and a few metres up the road, the next right. You will be on the Bog Road or The Glen Road. By walking or driving all the way in (5miles) you will reach the lakes. These are the lakes you see when you stand at the top of the Conor Pass and look down. It’s a dead end so you may then turn and return. A shorter walk on the same road…. Take the first right turn along the Bog road and after 20mins you arrive at the side of Cloghane Church. Loch Cruite lake walk Is on the same route. Walk to or if driving park before the small concrete bridge on the right side along the Bog Road. Head up the bohereen past the farmhouse and continue until you reach the lake. Cappagh beach Drive/walk through the village, heading out towards Brandon. Loughadoon Lake Walk Taking the road from Cloghane to Dingle you will reach a T-junction before turning right for the Conor Pass road. Park here on your left and the gate for the start of the walk is visible. A short enough walk maybe 1 hour.

Pedlars Lake On the Conor Pass road, on the ascent up from Cloghane side you will see a small car park to your left. This is a good viewing point for admiring the lakes below or for a small climb up to Pedlars lake. A short climb on rocks for 20 mins to reach the lake on top. A little further up the Conor Pass road you will reach the viewing point on the right. Make sure to stop on a clear day and take in the aerial views of Cloghane from here. Visit Dingle for shopping, the Dingle Gin distillery (book tours in advance) Oceanworld, or the famous Inch Beach. Continue on to Louis Mulcahy Pottery in Ballyferriter where you can make your own pottery pieces (book in advance). The legendary Slea Head Drive from Dingle must be experienced! Dingle has a large Supervalue and Lidl for food shopping. Lots of famous pubs and restaurants to visit.
