Good food
A lovely place to visit, there are so many more shops than the cafe, though The Olive Tree is very good. Lovely hand made cakes and scones, a good range of savory dishes, and excellent coffee.

Sightseeing

Burghead has a classic Scottish harbor, a Pictish fort and stunning views across the sea to the hills of Sutherland. From Burghead you can walk west and be on sandy beaches, or you can walk east and be among rocks and caves and cliffs. Gorgeous either way.

There is a Dolphin center here, and also it's a surfing destination. All sorts of birds nest around the mouth of the river so bird watching is another popular activity.
