East Glisan has amazing pizza (hello, broccoli rab with lemon oil and chili flakes!) and the warmth of a neighborhood bar. Happy hour cocktails are yummy and cheap, with lots of great microbrews on tap.

Run by a brother-sister duo, Hanoi Kitchen is no-frills Vietnamese food. Affordable and so-fresh-the-veggies-still-crunch, there's even a full vegetarian menu here. The pho broth is made in-house from scratch. Yum!!!

Widely heralded as the best donuts in Portland, Blue Star far outshines the more popular Voodoo Donuts... especially in terms of taste and quality. While it lacks the kitsch of Voodoo, Blue Star has rotating flavors that supplement the tried and true favorites that locals love (like blueberry bourbon and cinnamon horchata).
