Baseball Stadium
“PNC Park is an intimate, classic-style ballpark that embraces the progressiveness of Pittsburgh while saluting the spirit of early ballpark originals. Its scenic vistas of downtown and the riverfront create an exciting and dramatic urban sports venue. A man shared his thought about it saying “I have been to a good handful of games and two tours of PNC Park, and it has been an outstanding experience every time. As far as games go, there is not a bad seat in the stadium. I have sat in most areas of the stadium, from the outfield bleachers (keep an eye on the weather in the summer, as it gets very hot under the sun all day), a few rows up behind home plate, the upper deck, and the more-exclusive club seating (the price may be scary, but the view and food is a significant improvement), and there is not a bad seat in the place. The tour is interesting; it covered a lot of history, along with trips to the press box and dugout. Both tours were taken during the season, so there was no access to either locker room. Overall, if you like baseball even a little bit, get to PNC Park.””

“Charming Mount Washington is known for its panoramic city views, from spots including Grandview Avenue’s Restaurant Row, home to upscale seafood and Italian restaurants. The Monongahela and Duquesne Inclines are funiculars that climb the hill to lookouts like Grandview Overlook. Point of View Park has a bronze sculpture of George Washington with Seneca leader Guyasuta, while Emerald View Park is laced with trails. The Name Young George Washington once stood along what is now Grandview Avenue and mapped the land and rivers below for the British who lay claim to the forks of the Ohio River. One More Thing Just a few blocks from Grandview is Chatham Village, a unique residential garden community that's been named a National Historic Landmark thanks to its landscaping, architecture and 1930's experimentation with alternative housing. ”

“The university that TJ built. We are not biased or anything, but it’s the best university in the world. (We understand there are arguments for and against this claim.) But, truly, if you haven’t visited UVA, you should. The Lawn and Rotunda are historic and you’ll find them very beautiful and interesting, whether or not you are a ‘Hoo. Bring a picnic and a frisbee and hang out on the Lawn, gazing at the architectural genius of our third President. When you’re done, walk down to The Corner and enjoy the used bookstores, tons of restaurants and coffee shops, and soak in the vibe of this vibrant college town. We love Roots (yummy healthy bowls), Asado Wing/Taco, Boylan Heights (grass-fed burgers), and Mellow Mushroom for pizza.”

Science Museum
“The Carnegie Science Center has four floors of interactive exhibits and is wonderful for kids. Among its attractions are the Buhl Planetarium (which features the latest in digital projection technology), the Rangos Omnimax Theater (promoted as "the biggest screen in Pittsburgh"), SportsWorks, the Miniature Railroad & Village, the USS Requin (a World War II submarine) and Roboworld, touted as "the world's largest permanent robotics exhibition." The Roboworld exhibition contains more than 30 interactive displays featuring "all things robotic", and is also the first physical home for Carnegie Mellon University’s Robot Hall of Fame. It is closed on Sundays when there is a Steelers home game.”

“Tari's serves an incredible tomato-basil bisque for lunch (and dinner!) I particularly enjoy the pecan-crusted salmon filet with spinach and gingered mashed sweet potatoes for dinner. They also have steaks! Weekend dinner is usually busy, but the crowd is gone by 8pm or so. Most places in town close early compared to the city--fair warning. :) ”

“This is one of our most popular restaurants here in Garrett County. Centrally located to all of Deep Creek Lakes activities. They offer a wide variety of menu options that is sure to please everyone. Dockage right out back. Ever-popular Honi-Honi Tiki bar next door brings in lots of talented musical groups (and if you are lucky, my cousin Jimmy Flanigan may be strumming his guitar for your entertainment)! ”
