There are several footpaths from the village, and two national cycle routes pass through the village, making this an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the principal market towns in the North Cotswolds, situated on the Fosse Way and served by the main line railway from London Paddington. The town was granted its market charter in 1227 and there still is a busy Tuesday market, with about 200 stalls attracting many visitors. Moreton has been a traveller's town for at least 1700 years and was used as a coaching station before the coming of the Oxford to Worcester railway in 1853. The oldest building is likely to be the 16th century Curfew tower on the High Street, whose bell was rung nightly until 1860 to remind people of the risk of fire. The High Street has many elegant 17th and 18th century inns and houses, including the Redesdale Market Hall in the centre of the town. Food & Drink Moreton has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: Redesdale Arms (www.redesdalearms.com): Menus at the Redesdale Arms Hotel are a blend of modern international cooking and traditional British favourites, delicious when given a contemporary twist by the team in the kitchen. Eat in one of the refurbished restaurants, on the garden terrace or in the bar next to the log fires. The finest local ingredients are used, including Cotswold meat and locally grown vegetables, with daily specials including local game and fresh Cornish seafood. The White Hart Royal (www.whitehartroyal.co.uk): The kitchen team use fresh local ingredients to produce cuisine that is contemporary English a la carte or traditional pub classic. To complement the menus there is an extensive cellar of specially selected new and old world wines. You can dine in the Courtyard Restaurant, al fresco in the courtyard or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Snug Bar with its stone-flagged floor and large Inglenook fireplace; The Spice Room (www.spiceroomrestaurant.com): The Spice Room Restaurant is a family-owned and family-operated Indian Restaurant, with over 12 years of experience cooking and serving the best and tastiest Indian cookery. All the food is made to order with the freshest ingredients. Moreton has a Tesco Express, a Budgens and a Co-op for regular food purchases and, for a special treat, there are a number of delicatessens specialising in local produce, including: The Cotswold Cheese Company (www.cotswoldcheese.com): The store stocks more than 80 different artisan and farmhouse cheeses, with a real focus on local quality producers, followed by British territorial cheese (Cheshires, Lancashires, Caerphilly etc.) and then focussing on very high quality French, Spanish & Italian cheese. To complement the cheese, the store also sells a wide range of cheese accompaniments and other deli essentials including local breads, biscuits & crackers for cheese, chutneys & local potted meats and pate's.

The large enclosed garden has an immaculately kept lawn and an orchard at the back, a perfect playground for younger children. A charcoal barbecue and sun lounger have been provided to make the most of sunny days and mature trees and shrubs cast welcome shade in the hotter weather. The owners’ grounds cover approximately half an acre, and guests are welcome to explore the delightful countryside beyond the farm gates. Off-street parking is available for three cars on the private driveway.

Welcome to my very special genuine Shepherds Hut situated in a beautiful hidden valley in the heart of the Cotswolds, off the beaten track but near to many local attractions, gardens and national trust properties. It is also perfectly situated for wonderful walks with a network of footpaths starting from right outside the door and local pubs only a few miles away. A truely cosy retreat in my peaceful private garden.
The hut has a double bed, thick duvet, pillows and wood burning stove to keep you toasty warm. Outside the hut in the garden you'll find a table and chairs. There is a private bathroom with shower, basin and toilet in a converted section of my garden shed close to the hut where there is also a fridge and a microwave for your use. A kettle and teas, coffees and milk are included in the hut. There is WiFi but it isn't always strong in the hut. You are able to use it in the garden on seats nearer the house.

Accommodation Heath Barn is a period Cotswold stone detached property which has been converted in a contemporary, uncluttered style. It lies next to the adjacent farmhouse in a quiet, rural location at the end of a 1-mile shared farm track between Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh.
There is an en-suite bathroom that is attached to each double bedroom. There is also the single bed on the gallery . One other point, there is a dining area within the open plan downstairs.

This is a garden room equipped with television for only DVDs & boxsets and hanging space. It is a very light and airy room and the bathroom is situated in the main house which is only 20 steps away. The door to the garden bedroom is lockable and you will be given your own key. The cottage itself is in a beautiful little village and has great locations for walking, only 10 minutes drive from Stow-On-The-Wold, 15 minutes from Bourton on the Water and very accessible links to Cheltenham and Oxford.
There is a welcome hamper. The room has tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. This is an original 17th century house with all its original features including bathroom.
The house is in a very quiet and peaceful rural village. It is connected to Cotswold Way Circular Walks and many others. The village does not have a shop or pub but there is only a 10 minute drive to Stow on the Wold or Moreton in Marsh which both have some lovely pubs and shops.

Lime Cottage is a beautifully renovated Cotswold stone cottage in a lovely spot overlooking the fields. Interior consists of open planned kitchen, dining and living area with inglenook fireplace. Upstairs there is a twin bedroom, family bathroom and master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There is an annex with a double sofa bed and bathroom across the little bridge over the stream. Annex is available for a minimal charge. There is offroad parking for two cars.
Lime cottage is full of character with its beams, open fire and Cotswold stone floors. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, granite worktops and Rangemaster cooker. The bathrooms are luxurious complete with oak beams. Lime Cottage is the perfect place to come back to after a long walk across the fields.
Longborough is a lovely quiet village with a pub, shop/cafe and 12th century church. The Longborough Opera Festival is well known and runs in the summer months. There are many foothpaths around the area with beautiful walks. We are centrally located to visit villages such as Blockley, Broadway, Chipping Campden among just a few. Stratford-upon-Avon is just 20 miles as is Cheltenham and Cirencester. You will never been short of good restaurants or shopping experiences.

  • Nick y Cindy, ¡Nos encantó Lime Cottage! ¡Altamente recomendado!

A cosy Shepherd Hut, named Elsie, resting in 60 acres of beautiful Cotswold countryside. Glamping at its finest with all the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Conveniently located 5 minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh, with direct train links to Oxford and London. Durhams Farm is home to over 30 much-loved horses and ponies. Horse riding experiences are also available at the Farm. The perfect location for couples, adventurers and animal lovers.
Camping may not be at the top of everyone’s list during the winter months but Elsie is a very reasonable alternative. We’ve kitted her out with hot and cold running water, heating and electricity too, so you can relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Elsie has comfy twin beds that can also be made into a kingsize double, with storage underneath. Please request your preferred arrangement. Bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchenette is stocked with crockery and cutlery; a kettle; a toaster; a microwave; a fridge/freezer and a Belfast sink. There is private seating outside your hut with beautiful views surrounding. Great for stargazing and the sunsets at the farm are beautiful. During the winter months, radiators will be added to keep you warm. The shower room is located approx 25metres away from the Huts in a blue cabin. Here, guests staying in the Huts have shared access (4 people max at any time/regularly cleaned) to a shower, WC and sink. Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers! We have two huts available at Durhams Farm - great for group trips! Apologies, we do not accept bookings for young children (under 10) and/or pets. Wifi is not available in the Hut but can be accessed on the farm all day. Visit the riding school reception to connect your device.
Our Shepherd Hut is set in a stunning part of the Cotswolds within easy reach of picturesque towns such as Moreton in Marsh, Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Warwick are both within a 40 minute drive. There are miles of bridleways and footpaths to explore in the surrounding area and some great local pubs and restaurants. Daylesford Organic is 3 miles away too and well worth a visit whilst you stay.
Muchas gracias!

  • Me encantó quedarme aquí.

  • Bellamente decoradas, impresionantes vistas.

Saludos cordiales, Tark & Zara

A cosy Shepherd Hut, named Ronald, set in 60 acres of tranquil Cotswold countryside. Glamping at its finest with all the comforts of home in the great outdoors. Conveniently located 5 minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh, with direct train links to Oxford and London. Durhams Farm is home to over 30 much-loved horses and ponies. Horse riding experiences are available whilst you stay. The perfect location for couples, adventurers and equine enthusiasts.
Camping may not be at the top of everyone’s list during the winter months but Ronald is a very reasonable alternative. We’ve kitted him out with hot and cold running water, heating and electricity too, so you can relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Ronald has a comfy fitted double bed, with storage underneath and all of your bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchenette is stocked with crockery and cutlery, a kettle, an electric single hob, toaster, fridge and sink. There is private seating outside your hut with beautiful views surrounding. Great for stargazing and the sunsets at the farm are beautiful. During the winter months, radiators will be added to keep you warm. There is a heated shower room a short walk (25metres) from the Huts in a blue cabin. Here, guests have shared (max 4 guests at any one time) access to a shower, WC and sink. Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers! We have two huts available at Durhams - great for group trips! Apologies, we do not accept bookings for young children (under 10) and/or pets. Wifi is not available in the Hut but can be accessed on the farm all day. Visit the riding school reception to connect your device.
Our Shepherd Hut is set in a stunning part of the Cotswolds within easy reach of picturesque towns such as Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold.
