Los mejores restaurantes según la gente local

Restaurante mexicano
$$
“Very popular Tex-Mex restaurant that's been around the neighborhood for a very long time. Has a fun atmosphere and is great for hanging out on the patio having a margarita as well as for larger groups. Perfect for when you're in the mood for Tex-Mex and it's right next door! Fun place!”

Restaurante de mariscos

“Great Oyster and Seafood Bar. The only downside is that this location does not take reservations. But you can call ahead and put your name on the list. Although this location is in Dupont Circle and a short walk from the metro stop, they have a location on Capitol Hill and a brand new one on the Wharf.”

Bistro

“Bistro du Coin has the vibe of a regular Paris'neighborhood restaurant, no pretentious and delicious food (specially the onion soup!) ”

Restaurante de sushi
$$
“Best sushi and Japanese food in the district. High prices, but good quality.”

Gastrobar
$$
“Best burger in the District! Truffle mac and cheese and elote locos are also highly recommended - as is the Vietnamese fried rice available only on the late-night menu (Wednesday-Saturday starting at 10:30pm). One of the few really good all-day bar/restaurants in town - bonus is that happy hour runs from 12-7 weekdays. Great patio for good-weather days.”

Restaurante tai
$$$
“1511 17th St., NW Sure, spicy food might be a Valentine’s Day cliche, but we’d be thrilled if our date took us to chef Johnny Monis’s candlelit Thai spot below Komi (and also, to Komi, but only 9 PM-and-later spots are still available). Tables for the $54 prix-fixe here are first-come, first-serve, but it’s a good idea to line up early.”

Restaurante asiático

“Good for dates and solo outings, serene two-story spot for tea in Dupont serves ample choices of tea (no coffee), Asian-inspired bentos, curries, and cold noodle salads. Don't miss the the ginger scones or salted oat cookies.”

Restaurante italiano
$$
“This is one of our favorite go-to restaurants in DC. It's a cab or Uber ride away, but worth the trip. The food is well-done Italian, the wine list is excellent. Located in an old townhouse near Dupont Circle, Dito's Bar in the basement is a cozy, welcoming spot. If you see our friend Dito bartending, make sure to tell him we said hello. Upstairs, the dining rooms are cozy, quiet and quaint. It's our favorite neighborhood restaurant. ”

Hotel
$$$
“Rather than visiting the restaurant in this charming Dupont hotel (although brunch is very popular here), we highly recommend a cocktail in their bar/parlor - particularly on cold days so you can enjoy the fireplace. It’s like sitting in your living room, but fancier. They have live music on occasion.”

Pizzería
$$
“Solid pizzeria with a huge selection of beers on tap. As for the pizza, the margherita is quite satisfying, with the smaller version being easily shareable between two friends. The beer selection was quite a huge bonus, with rotating, well-curated picks from all over the country and the world. Service at the bar was friendly and engaging, and this intimate venue can get quite busy on weekends. A solid recommendation from a your Airbnb hosts.”

Restaurante etíope

“Our favorite Eritrean/Ethiopian in DC. The Keren Special serves two as a meal and is one of the best deals for lunch or dinner, particularly in the north Dupont area. Breakfast and lunch/dinner menu served all day. There will be a line at peak times.”
