Bring your own bedding and an adventurous spirit, The Moontrimmer awaits you! Comfortable and spacious with ample seating, this trailer is hooked up and ready for a unique camping experience. If you are interested in staying at the Moontrimmer, please read ALL the following information to make sure this is the right experience for you!

El alojamiento
The Moontrimmer is set up on it's own private acre in a very safe and peaceful neighborhood 30 minutes from the Grand Canyon. There's a spacious outside picnic area with fantastic views of the San Francisco peaks. A fire pit with a grill gate and poker sticks are provided for BBQs.

There is no light pollution out here, so you can see the milkyway most nights. Enjoy a HUGE skylight over the double bed and a mini skylight over the single bed for some of the best stargazing in the country! Games and an acoustic guitar for entertainment, and enough solar power to charge your phone/anything that charges from a USB.

You'll have your own private outhouse with a composting toilet and solar camping shower. There is NO running water out here, so you'll have to bring your own to drink and shower with. The shower can hold up to 5 gallons, but 1 or 2 should be enough for a good rinse off. Put the water in the shower bag & let the sun warm it up!

PACK IN PACK OUT / NO CLEANING FEE! This is by far the most affordable stargazing rental we're aware of, and we like to keep it that way by not charging guests a cleaning fee. This means that if you stay here, you will be responsible for cleaning up after yourself - supplies are provided. The desert is a dusty place, dust can get tracked inside easily. Please sweep the floor and wipe down surfaces before you check out. Please note: there's no key to lock the camper from the outside, but you can secure yourself inside with a hook'n latch chain.

Disinfectant & antibacterial sprays are kept in the supplies wardrobe, so you can feel free to disinfect the space on arrival for a little peace of mind. I come on site at least twice a week to do a deep clean and to disinfect the entire camper.

Any food scraps/compostable items can go in the large compost bin about 50 feet behind the camper. We are totally off grid and have no means for garbage disposal out here, so you will need to take ALL trash and recyclables with you when you leave.

Of course your furry companions are welcome to join you! We don't charge pet fees, we just ask you tidy up after them inside and out. Compostable doggy bags are provided and a lint brush for any pet hair that may get on furniture.

The closest neighbor is another rental on the same property, a yellow cabin about an acre away, called The Hubble Hideout. If available, you are welcome to book both spaces to accommodate larger groups.

Acceso para huéspedes
Guests have full private access to the trailer and the surrounding yard. The front yard is almost half an acre and its all yours to do your thing. Your privacy will always be respected and the property is laid out to ensure that.

T&Cs:
There are no refunds given due to weather, cold temperatures, road conditions, no-shows, if you expected something different, or if it wasn't as easy to find as you would have liked. This is a camping adventure, you may face challenges, PLEASE know what you're getting yourself into and come prepared!

CHECKING IN:
This property is self check in. Just rock up and make yourself at home.

Reading the 'check in instructions' in your booking itinerary (available 72 hours prior to arrival) is advisable and will definitely help you get set up and familiar with the space.

Check in after 3PM
Check out before 11AM
(This is flexible, please get in touch if you'd like to request a different time).

LATE CHECK INS:
Arriving at night makes finding the camper more difficult, as it gets very dark out here and lighting is minimal, utilize the instructions provided and you shouldn't have any problems.

You are welcome to arrive at any time, however I will only definitely be availble to help with check in (if you need it) until 9pm. After this time I may or may not be awake due to having to get up at the crack of dawn for work. So if you are planning a late check in, please be aware that finding the property will likely be on you.

ROUGH ROADS:
Getting here can be an adventure in itself. There's about a mile of bumpy dirt roads. The recommended route in the directions section of your booking itinerary is passable by any passenger car, with the exception of a lowered sports car. See the "getting around" section for further details about the roads and tips about driving out here in various weather conditions. If you have any doubt that your car can handle these types of roads, it might be best to book somewhere not so off the grid.

THE COMPOST TOILET:
Before using the toilet, line it with a green compostable bag (kept in a labelled box in the camper wardrobe).
Instead of flush, cover with dirt using the provided scoop (hanging up in the outhouse).
Before you check out, tie up the bag and throw it in the compost bin (signposted) about 50 feet behind the trailer (see photos/check in instructions!)

WHAT TO BRING:
• Bedding of choice (sleeping bag, blankets, pillows etc).

• Drinking and shower water (5 gallon solar camping shower bag is provided).

• 1 lb propane canisters for heater (if staying in the winter months). They are widely available but Walmart is the most affordable at $3 each. 1 canister lasts approx 4 hours.

• Food and cooking utensils (a grill grate for BBQing over the firepit is provided).

• Firewood (make sure there isn't a Coconino County fire ban in place during your stay, and that your fire is out before you leave).

• Toilet paper.

• Trash bags (grocery bags are provided).

EXTREME WEATHER:
A propane camping heater is provided October 15th - May 15th, when temps drop significantly. If you are staying during these months, be sure to bring 1 lb propane canisters for the heater, plenty of warm clothes and extra bedding!

Please note that propane heaters have difficulty starting in temperatures below 20°F. When staying in the winter, make sure you arrive before the temperature drops too low. Otherwise you might be in for a very cold night, and there will not be any refunds given if you choose to arrive too late to start the heater.

In the summer, it can get very hot inside the camper during the day. Evenings can be on the chilly side or very comfortable.

Monsoon season is approx mid July - mid Sept. If you are staying during this time, check the weather report frequently and try to arrive before a storm. Because there's so little rain out here, the ground dries up incredibly quickly. If there has been any flooding and you're unsure about the roads, I can advise you on the best route to take to get to and from the property as I drive here most days.

CHECKING OUT:
Before checking out put composting toilet bag in the compost bin. Take all trash and recyclables with you and leave the trailer clean for the next guest.

Peaceful, safe, and quiet with great views and a mild climate. Curious local wildlife like small birds, jack rabbits, and lizards are always hanging around, the bright colors of the trailer seem to attract them. You may see/hear cows and elk wandering around too. There is no crime in this neighborhood, everybody keeps to themselves.

Roots in NY, heart in AZ. I moved out here 5 years ago to enjoy the simple life, peace and nature. Love to travel, skate and build things I feel are a bit different from the norm. I live with my English rose and our pup Dusty.
