El alojamiento
Our house is located in the Hood Mountain Regional Park, a couple miles above St Francis Winery with wonderful views of Kenwood and St Francis Winery. There are hiking trails right outside the house gate to the peak of Hood Mountain and Sugar Loaf. There are plenty of wineries along Highway 12. Downtown Sonoma, Russian River Valley and Napa are all within 30-minute drive. Bring or rent bicycles if you are adventurous.

We live between this Sonoma house and our San Francisco apartment with our 5-year old twins. Because of a couple of bad experiences with renters last year, we are now very selective and careful who we rent to this year. We do prefer renters who understand and respect that this is our house and not a hotel, as most home owners would do the same.

There are 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Master bedroom has a king bed and a pullout couch, as well as a baby crib. The guest bedroom next to the master bedroom has a full size futon bed. The other 2 bedrooms have queen size beds. If you have children, please ask them not to jump on the beds.

We are only renting out the entire house with minimum 3 nights booking in the summer season. We may accept last minute 2 night bookings if the house is still available.

For 10+ guests or groups who want a bit more comfort and room, there is another 2 bedroom 2 bathroom house with completely separate entrance, kitchen and living room. You can view the photos from my profile. Between the 2 houses, you can rent any combinations of 2, 4 or 6 bedrooms. You can find it via the following link.

While we do have solar panels to generate most of our electricity, we would still like to remind you to turn off lights and heaters when you don't need them or when we check out. We will charge $200 if heater or lights are left on when you are checked out. This policy has been very effective in ensuring guests are gentle on the environment.

We don't have cable. There is a hotspot for internet through AT&T. We have a smartTV and AppleTV. Just in case you still need to stay connected, AT&T has great signal here if you want to use your own cell phone as a hot spot.

If you do smoke, please do so outside and don't throw your cigaret butts everywhere. Please make sure they are put out before throwing them into the trash. With all the fire going on in California, we really do prefer guests who don't smoke at all.

The house is completely separate but attached to the main house where we usually use for ourselves in the summer except for a few popular weekends when we rent that out also. You will have complete privacy because the 2 houses do not share a wall and are separated by a garage. Please understand this is not a hotel. We are inside a regional park and you will come across critters both inside the house and outside. My cleaning lady and gardener do their best to clean up webs and animal droppings. You might encounter both during your stay because my helpers are not there 24/7.

The swimming pool and front deck will most likely need to be shared. The swimming pool is not heated. The pool guy comes every week on Tuesdays. The pool also has an automatic filtration system that runs a few hours every night. The pool is old but clean and properly maintained. Leaves and bugs that drop into the water is part of nature. There is a net on a long pole that you can use to fish out debris. Please be safe and use the pool at your own discretion.

There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. Please be very careful and use at your own risk. We have plenty of the firewood within easy reach.
