Golden Wood at Harley Estate, Sakleshpur is an assortment of homes spread over a couple of kilometers inside a 500 acre coffee estate, with a river flowing through breaking into a waterfall at a few places.
There's a grand house and a little red cottage overlooking a valley with coffee and arecanut, there's a house atop a hill, a 100+ year old earth house alongside a river, an old British bungalow - the sheer variety is amazing.
This is a place you will return to again and again - once for a day long picnic by the river and waterfall, then for the numerous treks and bike rides, and again for a deep immersion into coffee starting with a plantation tour, a visit to the curing works, and coffee tasting to end the day. There's also the famous Sakleshpur Railway line close by and the Manjarabad Fort a short drive or trek away.
Our kitchen serves local Malnad cuisine.
