A message for our guests about COVID-19: in our years as hosts, we are proud to say that we have always been leaders in cleanliness & creating fresh, safe spaces for our guests. This is evidenced by the hundreds of 5 star reviews & specific comments related to the cleanliness of our apartments.

During the COVID-19 pandemic & all of the considerations it entails, we wanted to share details about what we are doing.

In between guests, we turn over the apartments by hand, ourselves. We have always done this, and now it seems important to share.

Interior & exterior door knobs, locks, window ledges & edges, appliance surfaces & knobs, light pulls & switches & outlets, chairs, counters, cabinet pulls, table surfaces are disinfected - between every guest.

We use chlorine & non chlorine bleach for all bedding, blankets & towels. We have the top of the line filters in our HVAC system, practice ventilation of the spaces, and periodically use ozone.

You can be confident staying in our spaces that the highest standards are used for cleaning & disinfection, every time. We understand that these are strange & unprecedented times & want to convey our commitment to cleanliness.

Walkable to all that downtown has to offer, including the BB&T Ball Park, the Hanes Theater, Hanes Park, millennium Center, Benton Convention Center, Washington Park, the Stevens Center, the Children's Museum, Bailey Park, the Innovation Quarter, Old Salem, Aperture Theater, Sawtooth, YMCA, Washington Perk Market and all of the restaurants, cafes, bars, breweries, coffee shops and art studios that downtown has to offer.

Bike trails, walking trails, the Strollway and dog parks surround the apartment.

The apartment is centrally located, immediately on a bus stop and close to Business I-40 and Rt. 421. Wake Forest University and Hospital, Forsyth Hospital, Winston Salem State University, Southeastern Center for Contemporary Arts, NC School of the Arts, Whole Foods, Publix, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Hanes Mall, Old Salem Lake, Rock Quarry Park, are within a ten minute drive or less.

Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock are excellent for hiking and within a thirty minute drive. Fifteen minutes from here is the oldest medicinal herbal garden in the United States. It's located in Bethabara, which, along with Old Bethania are great spots of history.

Greensboro, NC is about 30 minutes away and High Point, NC is 20 minutes away (that's where the Furniture Market is). Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTI/GSO) is 17-20 minutes away.

The space itself is clean, bright and airy. The kitchen may be the crown jewel of the apartment, with half of it encased in glass, allowing for lots of light and pretty views as you enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine. It has white quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher and garbage disposal) and a reclaimed granite backsplash. We've got it stocked with coffee, tea, a bit of breakfast and your kitchen essentials. Hardwood floors are throughout the apartment, minus the bathroom, which is tiled.

The bathroom is remodeled and squeaky clean. There are bathroom basics stocked: hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, disposable razors, toothpaste etc. All of our supplies are natural & organic.

There are two bedrooms, each with a king sized bed, small drawers, a desk and a place to sit. Both bedrooms have closets with luggage racks and hangers. One of the bedrooms has a small laundry closet with a stackable washer/dryer unit.

The living room has a comfy couch that could sleep one. In addition, we have a small TV. We do not have cable, but we have an Amazon fire stick and very fast Internet. In the closet, there is an air mattress to sleep 1-2.

The apartment has two decks - a spacious one great for lounging and eating outside when the weather is nice, and another one out back being remodeled & extended mid-June 2019 for gazing at the pines or watching the fireflies.

The apartment features filtered water throughout - we have a whole house water filtration system. As mentioned above, there is free, fast Internet.

There is no smoking in the apartment.

We have a compost bin and recycle if you like those things.

The property is surrounded by plants and trees - and depending on time of year, vegetables, figs, blueberries, passion vines and kiwis - lending a feel of privacy or that you are living in a tree house, despite having downtown W-S in the view from your window, a minute or two walk away.

Winston-Salem is enjoying the surge of the local food movement, with many independent restaurants supporting local farmers and the farmer's market. Krankie's Wherehouse, Muddy Creek, Mary's Gourmet Diner, Canteen 411, Black Mountain Chocolate and Twin City Hive are some locavore gems to explore.

We invite all travelers, explorers, students, teachers, wanderers, artists, folks going to conferences or interviews and everyone else to stay with us.

Acceso para huéspedes
The entire apartment and both of the apartment's decks are yours to use. There is ample on-street parking. You do NOT need a permit to park on the street.

Access to the apartment is on the side of left side of the house, via the deck. The deck has plenty of space for sunbathing and cooking out.

Wake Forest University and the medical school, Winston Salem State University, Salem College, NC School of the Arts and Forsyth Technical College are all within a ten minute drive or less.

Reynolda Village is a ten minute or less drive.

There is a market called Washington Perk within walking distance. There are more restaurants, cafes and bars in downtown Winston than we can keep up with, featuring multiple cuisines.

There is a bus stop on the corner of the street. The main bus station in Winston-Salem is just 5 min away by foot.

Hardwood floors and lots of windows and high ceilings throughout; the space is bright and spacious and clean.

The kitchen features windows on two walls, making you feel like you are in a tree house. Stainless steel appliances, quartz counters and new cabinets make the kitchen feel clean and welcoming. We've stocked coffee, a variety of tea and some cooking basics for you.

The entire house has filtered water: sinks, shower, dishwasher, laundry.

The Internet is fabulous.

The living room has a pull-out sofa bed that can sleep two. We have a futon stashed in the closet that can sleep a small adult or a child.

Each bedroom has a king sized bed (one of them is a tempurpedic), a closet with hangers and a space for your luggage.

There is a washing machine and dryer.

The bathroom was recently renovated and is nice and clean, with soap, shampoo and conditioner for you if you've forgotten your own.

You have a deck perfect for hanging out and having coffee or a cocktail, and a small deck in the back as well.

There is a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, extra chairs, towels, sheets, pillows and blankets for you.

The apartment is walkable to the BB&T Ball Field, the Innovation Quarter, the Children's Museum, Old Salem and art parks of downtown, not to mention the theaters, restaurants, cafes and bars. (Website hidden by Airbnb) My wife (Jillian) and I along with our three cats and two dogs live in this building too. It is a Triplex and we use all three apartments, even ours occasionally, for AirBnB guests. We are veteran AirBnB users and have a really good idea of what will make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Both my wife and I are healthcare providers that specialize in natural medicine. We have a health clinic and fitness center 5 min away from downtown. We are both foodies, and into natural/sustainable living as well as fitness/wellness. My life motto is simply Learn, Love, and Laugh in any order. :)
