Everything was just as the pictures described! A perfect spot for a couple to spend a few days and get away. We didn't do many activities on the island because it was a little cold and rainy, but we did go to the Japanese Garden (highly recommend - it happened to be sunny when we were there and we spent an hour alone in the garden). We also ate at one of the restaurants "downtown" - can't remember the name, but it looked like a big white house and had a deck out front for outdoor seating. The food was great and locally sourced. Overall, wonderful experience!

Cottage was just what we expected, but island was quieter than we expected. There were only a few eating establishments, but awesome hiking trails in the middle of the island. Thanks again Alexis for sharing paradise with us.

Ever since we booked this lovely cottage a few months ago we couldn't wait to come here!!! When we finally arrived I completely fell in love with this place! It's even more beautiful in person! Alexis is an amazing host - very friendly and helped us with the questions we had about the island and local food. She had delicious bread/milk/eggs/oatmeal/coffee for us! I loved the fresh flowers and plants all throughout the cottage. They add a lovely touch to this earthy cob :) I can go on and on about all the beautiful details - pottery/dishes/plants/pillows/blankets/rugs but you just need go see for yourself :) Caution: If your style is rustic/boho/country/farm house - you won't want to leave this place... ;)

We had a wonderful time at the cob cottage, thanks to Alexis' and Manny's gracious hospitality. There were fresh eggs and a stellar banana loaf waiting for us. The cob cottage has everything you'd need, including different linens in case the nights are hot or cold. There are numerous cozy nooks to sit and read in, share meals, or relax. We loved making meals in the cottage and on the grill outside, and shared many laughs watching the chickens try to convince us to share our portions with them. Both day and nighttime is totally serene. As soon as we arrived, we wished we had booked a longer stay. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

I am a rural mama of twin boys. I also have a serious knitting habit. (tktl on Ravelry). We have a heritage orchard, chickens and sheep. We manage to stay crazy busy on a quiet and relaxed island. My husband, Manny, is a software developer (borsboom on Github) and works from home. He is an avid cyclist and kayaker. He is also a Dutch citizen. We have a very low tech lifestyle outside of Manny's work.
