The Juniper Rose is located in a 40 acre Juniper forest and lava rock terrain in the Shasta Valley. The tiny rustic home has spectacular views of Mt Shasta and her surrounding volcanic mountains. Find solitude in this off the grid retreat.

The Juniper Rose was constructed from recycled materials by our dear friend Lewis Meyers Jr. inspired by the need for substantial mobile shelter that blends into the forest and holds a history of somewhere else.

El alojamiento
Share in the primitive comforts of this hand made Gypsy wagon of approximately 115 sq. ft. The kitchenette has a Brass basin nestled into a beautiful chunk of Koa wood. Drink or wash from the ceramic crock that holds pure lava rock filtered aquifer water. Kitchenette cabinet houses dishes, pots, cutlery, glasses, coffee press/mugs and electric induction stove which works when the pan makes contact. The Queen size bed comfortably fits two and is lofted next to a window that gives a scenic panorama of magnificent Mt. Shasta. There is a quaint table for dining and a wood stove for heat. Unwind on the outside deck and gaze into the dazzling night sky or relax in Zero Gravity chairs. Outhouse to the South within short walking distance. Outdoor shower can be seen from the front deck. On HOT Summer days, please allow the water to run for at least 10 minutes before showering as the water is scalding HOT. Outdoor shower is shared with other guests. Wifi does not reach to the cabin. Smoking allowed outside only.

Acceso para huéspedes
Turn left at the "JUNIPER ROSE" 8733/Bunny Lane sign, follow the "Juniper Rose" signs to the left to get the cabin. Make your self at home and please message me if you need anything at all.

Otros aspectos destacables
Northern California experiences four distinct seasons. Spring and Fall seasons are typically prime time for reprieve. Feel free to walk the 40 acre property while you're here but watch your step as the terrain is heavily littered with lava rocks.

The Winter season is usually cold, wet and windy and the terrain may be muddy, snowy and unpredictable. If booking for winter, bring appropriate warm/waterproof shoes and clothing.

Entering the Summer months, I would recommend not "hanging out" in the cabin during the day as this is high desert and it can get HOT. Although guests are welcome to "hang out", I would suggest taking a day trip to a higher elevation, lake, river, waterfall or anywhere cool and come back in the evening when things cool off. Summer nights are generally nice and cool. I will also supply an oscillating fan for air circulation. I have an electric hot plate for cooking and if you would like to keep things cold, there is a cooler you're welcome to use stored under the deck as the cabin does not have a refrigerator. There is a market within 5 minutes distance to purchase any needed supplies. *Because of the dry Summers, there can be forest fires in Northern California. The air quality can be poor and very smoky. I will message you if this is an issue.

I have four dogs that stay inside a fenced area around the main house. You are welcome to bring a pet. Please keep an eye on you pet. I will not be held responsible for any injury your pet may incur. Please keep dogs out of the donkey pen which is surrounded by electric wire and be aware of your pets whereabouts. Please be respectful of the wood inside the cabin and how your pet may scratch/damage the interior. Please do not let your dog scratch the wood climbing into the bed. You will be charged if this happens. Be respectful...You may have neighbors as there is another Airbnb space nearby. Fresh free range eggs are for sale @ $5.00/doz.

There is another Airbnb space across the driveway. Please be mindful of others privacy and keep noise level down before 8:00 am and after 10.00 pm.

If you bring a child and it is winter, please be mindful of the wood stove and how HOT it can be.

Please clean up after yourselves ie. wash dishes and dispose of trash/recycling. Please do not pour coffee grounds, bacon grease/animal bi product down sink drain or on ground outside. If you need a receptacle, feel free to ask me as I'm happy to provide one.
There are two metal trash cans on the outside.

Please do not use the counter top as a cutting board. There’s a cutting board under the sink. Please do not set HOT wood stove plates on top of wood counter.

Clean up after your dog. You will find doggie bags inside. Please keep an eye on your pet at all times and keep dogs out of the horse pen. If another guest has a dog, observe leash rules. Please be respectful of the wood inside and how your pet may scratch/damage the interior ie: climbing up into the bed.

No smoking inside and do not throw any cigarettes on the ground.

Please let us know if something has been broken or damaged. We understand these things happen but don't want the next guest to have a bad experience.

We do not charge a cleaning fee however, if you have not cleaned after yourself, you will be charged $40.00. Theft will also not be tolerated.

Hi, I am a glass blower, audiophile vinyl collector and working mother. My family and I have lived here in the Shasta valley for 16 years and love the peace and solitude. I am originally from Texas but have lived in California for more years. We have lots of visitors as it is a beautiful place and conveniently located 15 minutes from the I-5. I love to cook and make great home made pizza and Indian food. I love to hike and recently hiked 10 miles of the PCT. I would love to hike the entire trail someday. I believe the secrets to living a full life are hidden in nature.
