El alojamiento
The Woodchoppers Cabin is one of 5 guest cabins on the grounds. The cabin is very, cozy, clean and simple. The Woodchoppers has the best deck view and spacious fire pit on the grounds. This Cabin provides sleeping and full bathroom amenities(sink, shower and toilet). You can enjoy the upgraded camping feeling in the Hull Mountain Cabins. Very simple inside room in and more spacious outside. Linens and Sundries supplied.
The co-op kitchen is a stone's throw from our cabin for all cooking needs. Shared Fridge, Mini-oven, 4 gas burners, oven and all kitchenware. All utensils, cookware, dish and cleaning supplies. Coffee maker and beans with grinder- as well. This is a shared space with table seating 7ppl. Other guests will be using facilities, so we ask that everyone be considerate and clean. Only item that we ask you to bring is Ice for coolers. We do not provide ice for guests on site.
Mountain weather is extreme- although we do not have A/C we do provide fans for each space. Wall propane heater in cooler months. Also, prepare for wildlife- Bears, coyotes, deer, rabbits, elk, bald eagles, snakes and all types of insects. in the summer mosquitoes are out right before sunset!!!
Soda Creek Store down the road sells ice.
++our property provides plenty of room to tow in boats or trailered toys for your stay
++no 2 or 4 wheelers can be driven into ranch without being trailered
This area rest's the end of an hour long dirt road once you get through Potter Valley or Clear Lake Area. Well worth it and 2wheel drive, easily accessible during summer and early fall months. Winter conditions can change which call for good tires and a bit of clearance under vehicle.
You have access to entire ranch area behind the gates. There are a couple hundred homes spaced out with paved and gravel roads. Please be respectful of other cabins, guests and full time residence that are on the property.
Please do not enter any buildings or gardens or walk onto other properties.
Co-op. Plenty of room for coolers to be stored to keep safe from bears.
++ I will be giving a guest code to enter gate to enter on directions once confirmed-
This is a truly unique area set in the Mendocino National Forest. We are off the grid here and fully operating on Solar Power in the summer and generator when sun is hiding.
Way less crowded then Lake Sonoma and Tahoe but still within 4.5hrs hours of Bay Area. A good excuse to escape social media and traffic for a weekend!

All roads are dirt and slightly paved the last hour in. Drive with caution. Bring your bikes, boat or kayaks for more access to adventure during your stay.++Always stay at about 15mph within the gated Ranch area

Be sure to pack like you are coming on a camping trip!
Bring smore's, bug spray, flashlights, cameras, binoculars, ice for coolers, beach chairs and maps. Pack clothing for all types of weather. Pack all of your food for your stay. Only store is 15 minutes away and it's a bait, ice and beer kind of store. Grocery store and restaurant is an hour and half away.
Remember... there is no cell/internet service!!! You will feel so free without it. We have landline for emergencies and there is payphone at the soda creek store 15minutes away .
The 40 acres of woodsy landscape provides plenty of space to experience a restful getaway. This is also a great addition to other Hull Mt. Cabins if you need additional beds for their group/family.
There is a polo field on the grounds to enjoy a sunny picnic or fetch with your dog. At night enjoy world class star gazing Set amongst the pines on a hillside facing Hull Mountain that stands at 7,000ft. Once you are here-you are only a 15 minute walk away from great summer pond and a 15minute drive to the shore of uncrowded, recreational, Lake Pillsbury!
You can also brave the drive up Hull Mt. for fantastic views.
Attn. For people not familiar with the Lake Pillsbury Ranch Area
The Ranch fire burned 500 acres across the lake from us. Upper Lake Access is prohibited. Do not got thru Upper lake to Elk Mtn. to get here. Only thru Potter Valley.

Lake Pillsbury, California, Estados Unidos

Our forest is unlike most developed forests you usually venture to in California. It is undeveloped and mainly unchartered as far as trail markings and signs. Old school maps help and a willingness to be adventurous. Getting creative to follow a stream or roam out around the lake/Mt. basin for fun. I have a handful of suggestions and maps highlighted but most guests that have the adventurous courage to go out and explore, have the best experiences.
Please, follow all California Laws to abide: hunting, fishing, boating, OHV rules etc.
I am not responsible for informing unknowledgeable guests who arrive unprepared.
For example: no fishing license or riding 4 wheelers in prohibited areas. This forest is patrolled by fish and game, Forest service and Lake County Sheriff.

This is a family owned operation.. We live here full time and value our guests having a good and safe time. This comes along with respecting the neighborhoods quiet time 10pm -6am.
I have provided you with ample pre-trip info here on this site. I also provide you with a welcome binder upon arrival. This has 3 maps of areas surrounding and lots of tips/suggestions. We still strongly advise for guests to do their own research of Mendocino National Forest and Lake Pillsbury. Weather and Burned area updates thru Mendocino National Forest Station are great references. Check Potter Valley and Upper Lake) for weather updates.
PLEASE ADVISE- Only the guests set in the reservation are permitted on the property and in your cabin. NO GUESTS without prior permission and payment.
Once we get you settled in with a quick tour- please respect that this is our home where we work on the land outdoors daily.
It is very quiet during the off season here. Summer has more activity all over Basin.
