Great location just 1/2 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 152. Surrounded by open fields, mountain vistas abound. This home has been lived in and gently loved for many years. There is one bedroom downstairs and two upstairs. An extra cot is available. Fully equipped kitchen! Great for families and a long stay.

Guests are invited to join us when feeding the farm animals (alpacas, llamas, Highland cattle, Jacob sheep and angora goats) each morning. Fun!

El alojamiento
Built in the late 30's, Max's House is a classic farmhouse with updates for comfort. Updated bath and kitchen add comforts travelers desire while the flavor of the original home is maintained. Lacy curtains, wooden floors, paneled walls and rockers abound. The home gives you a hug as soon as you enter the door. Max's House is nearly 100 years old...a trip back to a slower, simpler time.

Acceso para huéspedes
Guests have the entire house at their disposal. Acres of field and a babbling creek await wanderers just out the back door. In season, apple trees droop with bright red fruit next to the house. A walk to the end of the road (a dead end) leaves visitors in awe at the long range mountain views and ends at a peaceful pond. Enjoy!

Otros aspectos destacables
Max's house has one (small) full bathroom on the first floor.
Upstairs second bedroom has a small cot suitable for children. An additional twin cot is available for use in the back porch.

Having lived in the area for 30 years, I cannot imagine living anywhere else. The gently rolling Blue Ridge Mountains nestle green valleys dotted with cows, sheep, horses and goats. Our close-knit community shares a strong pride in our special place. The tree lined winding gravel road ends at a pond with a small island and pier great for fishing and ice skating in winter. Very few cars travel our road since it is a dead end. This makes for lots of quiet, bird song, rustling leaves, lowing cows and crickets. Stars abound in the evening sky and mountain vistas open from every curve.

Once a busy business-woman, I have divested the stress and now work and play at home. My family stays very active with lots of things. We grow and preserve much of our food, hike, ride bikes and volunteer for several Floyd events and groups. Our farm has alpacas, llamas, Highland cattle, Jacob sheep and Angora goats. We love it here and want to share our wealth of place with travelers who want to experience Floyd and all its unique offerings.
