I’ve stayed at Donalda’s many times. It’s my go to place while staying in Port Hawkesbury. The place is always pristine and a home away from home!

This was a perfect week long retreat for our summer vacation. We spent most of our time enjoying the kitchen, screened in porch, and the pool! Just a short trip to town, it’s easy to get groceries and the kitchen in well equipped for cooking! We were in the pool everyday and felt so relaxed and at ease in the beautiful home and peaceful scenery! Peter, who stopped by mid-week was lovely and helpful. Completely recommend for a week away!

This is a great place to relax! Extremely quiet, spectacular view and plenty of space for a family of 4 to 6 to spread out and chill. The private beach is a nice added touch and Baddeck is only a 2 minute drive, but I wouldn’t walk there, cars drive a little fast down that road and there’s no sidewalk. Tyler was a great host, explained everything perfectly, right down to recommending water shoes for the private beach ( which we had). There’s also a nice listing of local places and lots of brochures so you can find stuff to do. It was ~25 degrees when we stayed and it gets nice and cool at night so not having A/C isn’t a problem. There are so many windows that open in so many directions, you’ll catch a breeze.

John and Willemijn were very accommodating, respond very quickly and were helpful mentioning extra tips about the town. Place was super cute and cozy! Loved my stay!

The dome was absolutely beautiful. So cozy and in a lovely, peaceful, private area surrounded by trees with a view of the water. It was magical using the hot tub at night with the hanging lights outside. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and lots of extra blankets were provided in case it got cold. We stayed cozy and warm with the wood stove, which was easy to use. The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of towels and even some nice robes provided. The kitchen was also very clean and had all the dishes and utensils we needed. The host was great at communicating, and responded very quickly. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this place!

We enjoyed our stay at Lori's place. It was a beautiful, peaceful and calming space. It was clean and there was everything you could need. We really enjoyed having a fire on the beach. We hope to come back again!

This place was exactly what we needed during a weekend of hockey. Very clean, comfortable. Very well stocked kitchen. The hot tub was very relaxing. The beds were very comfortable. This is a must book for the area.

Despite the house being so old it was clean and nice. It was decorated in chicken/bee theme, and included plenty of fun activities and amenities (hot tub, fire pit, indoor/outdoor games, BBQ, etc.). Ashley was very friendly and super easy to communicate with. Even the fresh farm eggs in the fridge felt like a nice bonus. If you are looking for a peaceful time outside of the city - it is definitely a great choice! Thank you Ashley!

Stayed at the Old Cabot Trail Beach House and it was fantastic! The cliffside views were breathtaking, and the amenities were exactly as described—no surprises, just comfort. Tons of privacy, with the jacuzzi being an absolute highlight. Gaétan, our host, was super accommodating, even letting us check in early due to weather. A gem of a spot; highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!

This is a magical location. Extremely private with terrific ocean front. A perfect view of Sea Wolf Island National Refuge. Lots of birds with eagles seen ever day. You'll have miles of beach to explore -never saw another person. The amenities are true luxury. Everything you would ever need to prepare meals was there. Andrew was a perfect host.

The house is modern and lovely with large windows and a deck looking out on the water. The house is large and filled with light, it’s clean and attractive and comfortable. The host John is highly responsive, answers all questions very quickly. It is 1 mile from town which makes it very convenient, and it is also very private and quiet.

Our friend group of 14 had a great time at Sheena and Bryce's beautiful house. The spacious living room was perfect to play boardgames. The kitchen was perfectly equipped to cook for our big group too. The place is very quieted and very conveniently located to be close enough to do day trips to the Cabot trail. We would love to come back.

Cody’s Airbnb is a great accommodation for larger families. Everything we needed and more was available within the house. Walking distance and wheelchair accessible to sandy beach. Location is spectacular, bring your binoculars for a closer view of Port Hood Island and finish the night with a bonfire or star gazing from the balcony.

There are so many incredible things to say about this property. When you arrive, you drive down a long enchanting, winding driveway carved into the forest, that leads to this truly unique home and of course, that stunning view. The photos do not do this place justice. We were surprised to see that there were no other houses in sight which made it feel even more remote. It was exactly the feeling that we were hoping for. We rented the space to spend time writing and it was absolutely perfect. The master bed was insanely comfortable and waking up to that ocean view every morning was just awesome. We both felt very well rested and inspired. I loved the AGA stove - it added this extra charm to the experience (so did the kitchen space overall - it is seriously well-stocked). Everything from the wood burning fireplace to the walks on the beach to the flatware. We just loved it. It was so peaceful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had a group of four families (with young children) stay at both the eagle and the sun house. The houses were very clean and spacious. We had plenty of room for our group and even had multiple unused bedrooms. The view is spectacular from both houses - especially the sun house. The pictures don’t do it justice. There’s no air conditioning in the houses, but we were kept cool by opening the windows and using the many fans that were provided in the rooms. It was fine during our stay, but I could imagine the upstairs rooms may get stuffy if you happen to visit during a particularly warm period. There’s a walk down the hill to the beach on the lake, and the beach is rocky so don’t expect to bring young kids swimming. Even if you’re feeling adventurous you’ll need water shoes to get around. Overall a great experience and a good way for a large group to visit Cape Breton

Cute spot! The property was very beautiful and big. Weather was beautiful so we got to enjoy a lot of time outside. Very convenient location. Minutes away from local grocery store, Souris Beach - enjoyed searching for sea glass & shells, 15ish mins to Basin Head (very beautiful!). If traveling with younger children (3 & under, would strongly recommend bringing a baby gate for top and bottom of stairs. House was cozy. The only issues we had; the host is aware of and was very responsive. Also, not all Provinces have waste/recycle/compost; to better assist guests, have a clear list of what goes where for those who aren’t aware. All in all, it was a wonderful time and would love to revisit!
