Unfortunately, Tropical Cyclone Alfred interrupted our stay mid-way through and the police asked us to vacate the property. Valerie couldn't have been more accommodating. We weren't able to move back in. Valerie was understanding and we were able to easily agree on a refund for the portion of the stay we weren't there.

Rachael’s place was perfect for us, great location. Being from Melbourne and not used to the humidity overnight we loved the louvred windows and the AC. The Deck was lovely to sit on for our morning coffee and we appreciated the practical things (washing line for wet bathers, beach towels provided etc). We were thrilled to see a koala resting in the gum tree directly opposite, we saw lots of beautiful wildlife on the island. Thank you for having us, only wish we could have stayed longer!

My family and I had the most wonderful stay at Marie's gorgeous property. Highly recommended! It is peaceful, in a really quiet neighbourhood, extremely clean and just close to where we needed to go to everyday for our activities, which was Manly. Everything was exactly as described and in the photos. Marie was really accommodating, friendly and flexible. The aircon was a godsend during this summer, and there are separate aircons in each bedroom. The high stools at the kitchen made it convenient for a quick breakfast everyday. The full-size fridge was another godsend, as we cooked most of our meals. And there are plenty of towels and bath mats! There is an IGA, bakery, butcher and chemist less than a 5-minute drive away at Manly Village, and at Wynnum Plaza less than a 10-minute drive away are Woolworths, Coles, Kmart and the awesome Super Butcher. Thank you Marie for sharing your property with us and making our stay at Brisbane so awesome.

We had such an amazing 10 day stay. Melanie’s place was absolutely perfect for a large family or just if you need space. Ground floor is a double garage. Middle floor has all the bedrooms and bathroom/laundry etc and top floor is the kitchen and entertaining deck with gorgeous festoon lights. There are two separate internal lounge/seating areas. It’s at the back of the building so very quiet and lovely outlook. It was all very clean and comfortable beds with air conditioning available in Master Bed and all living spaces. The large kitchen has so much pantry storage and the separation of two lounge areas on one floor was absolutely wonderful (we are a family of five) . Everything was well catered and thought of and appreciated. Being behind the bakery/gelati/coffee shops and across road from stunning cliff boardwalk was perfect! Can walk to beach too. Wonderful spot out of the "township" not far from the best park. Lovely house, spotless ... only thing lacking was attention to inhouse supplies (toilet paper, dishwashing liquid) ... neither of which we wanted to run out of! These probably needs to be religiously checked when cleaning. Otherwise, top spot, top house, top owner. Didn't bring the pet in the end but shecat would have been comfortable and it was really helpful having the option. Thanks Cynthia! Marie and Morgy

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stuart's Eclectic home. When we arrived we were greeted by a kangaroo in the back yard and had multiple bouncy visitors throughout our stay, as well as some beautiful kookaburras and curlews. It's so close to all the beaches and shops and walking trails, we walked or rode our bikes predominantly. Had a heatwave while we were there so the house was warm in the upstairs living areas in the afternoon as others have mentioned. A great comfortable beach shack and a lovely way to experience the beauty of what Stradbroke Island has on offer.

Staying at Kristin’s is a perfect place for peace, relaxation and easy fast access to a truly magnificent beach (Home Beach, no lifeguards but a safe lagoon) and short walk to wonderful Cylinder (lifeguards). The surroundings are so peaceful. Great place to chill, read, room to eat indoors and out. Good facilitator cooking. Great for a family or group of friends. Highly recommend. Cafe on site we did not use this time but heard from locals is good. Kristen was really responsive, excellent host.
