Everything was great! Very relaxing, private in the country. Everything you needed was within 15-30 minutes away. Very close to the mountains for hikes, historic areas and the Virginia Scenic Railway train ride in Staunton, Va. The train was an hour drive, but you see a lot of the area either by back country roads or interstate. Host had lots of pamphlets, books and other information for your stay, good if you have never been to the area. Enjoyed the Shenandoah area again.

Great place with a nice view. Host was attentive and quick to respond. The experience was cozy and quiet. Highly recommend it. It was near to all the attractions in Shenandoah.

We had a fantastic stay. The property felt like home and it’s located in a beautiful spot right on the river. The host was amazing and provided us all the information we needed. We truly had an amazing time.

This was our second visit to one of Frank's many properties and his high standards are reflected in the care he takes and feels for his homes. Our stay at "Overlook" was fun, relaxing and peaceful. Some highlights: -hot tub was one of the best we've seen (large, clean, good jets and in a great location). -home layout is well thought out -kitchen is stocked -extra 1/2 bath (not pictured) in awesome mudroom/laundry area -very comfy couches, sitting areas and beds -outdoor fire pits and indoor gas fireplace -nice dock -privacy and the ability to walk all over the expansive property, including along the river (there are some steep hills giving you the great views, but nothing crazy) -the scenic views from the big windows in the house We went during a flash snowstorm in December... can't imagine how much fun a summer or spring visit would be! We would definitely book again. Great gracious hosts! Thank you.

Firnew Cottage is surrounded by a beautiful setting. My kids loved walking to the river and playing there. We all loved having Firnew’s dog Louie visit us daily. I found picturesque views everywhere while walking the grounds and trails. We were also in a great location to drive out for hikes. Thank you to Alex, David and Trish for being such friendly hosts.

We traveled to this location at an odd time. All of the winter activities were closed and the spring and summer activities hadn’t started yet. So you might think that would’ve set us up for disaster. However, the home was beautiful and we were able to find some really fun local attractions. Including the Shenandoah caves that the kids absolutely loved and the natural bridge with a nice walk to a waterfall. We also loved visiting the restaurant at the resort which had food that everyone loved with a really friendly atmosphere. It made us so curious to see how amazing this place is when you are in the midst of the winter season or able to enjoy some of the summer activities. Clearly this is a jewel and we would be happy to return again one thing I would warn about is there are very, very steep roads to get to the home so make sure your brakes are in good working order.

Robert's retreat is exactly what our family needed to get away from our ticky-tacky suburban lifestyle. Our dog could run free as could our kids. Yes it was colder/wetter than we hoped and being from the south put as at odds with nature but we enjoyed the wonderful wide open out doors in small sprints. From walking the hanging foot bridge over and over to teaching my girls to cast and reel their first rod. We lit a fire the first night and the negative ions had the effect i had hoped for. My kids read and relaxed for bedtime. Robert is the epitome of "hospitality " always a few minutes away via chat to answer questions and provide guidance. I did learn that the Airbnb policy indicates that it is incumbent on the renter to provide their own firewood. Robert was gracious enough to supply wood for our first night but something you should consider logistically if staying more than a day during winter. We look forward to enjoying Robert's retreat again. Clan Milligan

Wonderful!!! We have such a relaxing weekend at Peter’s place. From the moment waking in we felt relaxed and at home. Peter had jazz music playing and the fireplace ready to go for us. There was plenty of wood available and Peter even provided fire starters for us to use. Peter’s place was spotless, the bath towels were soft and smelled so good. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, we slept so well. We loved the attention to all of the decor. We appreciated the plentiful seating in the living room. The couches were so comfortable and made relaxing so easy to do in front on the fire. The attention to detail and little touches that went into making this place amazing were appreciated. There were plenty of games, books, comfy blankets and pillows. The kitchen is well stocked with a wide variety of pots, pans, baking sheets, cups, plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery. We especially loved the views from all the windows. We can’t wait to return for another visit.

The unit was very cozy and clean. The pillows were super comfortable. The bathroom and shower were a bit smaller than we expected, but overall it was a nice visit for a weekend away, close to Bryce Resort.

Perfect for a quick getaway for my friends and I! The best part was being super close to the ski slopes/snow tubing and the late check out. We originally planned on just one day of skiing and snowboarding, but got to get in a couple extra hours with the late check out and close proximity. Thanks Carissa!

Our stay was very nice. David has a lovely property with a very rustic charm that matches well with the beautiful nature surrounding it. The only negative thing I could say about our stay was that the wifi was a bit spotty. Overall it was an extremly pleasant stay.

The accomodations were amazing. Apartment perfectly appointed. The snacks and breakfast items were perfect due to our extremely late arrival. Very thoughtful. The scenery and apartment could not have been better. The only negative would be trying to turn our very large pick up around in the driveway.

Great cabin. Nice warm heater. Great kitchen. Great nature vibes. Right next to a small pond that you can canoe in.

Cozy stay with my husband and dog for a week. We ventured into Shenandoah park most days and loved how it was about a quick drive to the entrance (we mostly went to the southern district for our hikes). The jacuzzi in the bear cave after a long day of hikes was perfect way to unwind! We had great weather but I could see if there was inclement weather going outside to the bear cave area for washer/dryer could be tough. But overall loved the house and would recommend!

Lovely secluded location right on the riverfront. We saw a turtle, fish, geese, two heron. The house itself is also very nice. We played ping pong, shuffleboard, and watched a movie in the cinema. Great location by vineyards and breweries, and right by the entrance to skyline drive and Skyline Caverns. We were with two dogs and three kids (4, 6, 8) and everyone loved it. My only issue is that the A/C didn't work the last night and the hot water ran out quickly but the host was very responsive and tried to fix the problem. Hopefully it won't continue.

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy mountain cottage! The home was spotless and well-equipped with everything I needed- fast Wi-Fi, modern appliances, and a super comfortable layout. I especially loved the wood-burning fireplace and the peaceful outdoor area with a fire pit and grill- perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The location felt quiet and tucked away, but still close enough to everything I needed. Highly recommend for a relaxing and refreshing getaway!

Sara was always responsive to our queries and the place was clean and homey. The lit-up Christmas tree was a pleasant surprise. The kids felt right at home in the game rooms and the adults found everything they needed. Instructions were clear. It was a perfect home away from home for our family. Sara is a super awesome host!

This is a lovely house! Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Super cozy living area. The only thing I missed in the kitchen was a dishwasher. Also, do yourself a favor and don’t park at the bottom of the drive to be close to house without assessing first whether you can get back up the driveway. I’ve never seen such a thoughtfully stock rental. My kids enjoyed playing down by the creek. There’s one restaurant nearby - maybe 15 minute drive- that came in handy!

Accommodations were exactly as described. The surroundings are incredible and the view from the deck is lovely. Marc’s cabin is welcoming, carefully decorated, and fully stocked for a pleasant stay. The upstairs bedroom is a little small but perfectly suitable and the bed it’s really comfortable. Mark was always responsive and very polite. Highly recommended!

A magical overnight stay, for sure! The cottages were cozy, well thought out, and very clean! The “back yard” was like a gorgeous fairy land. We already can’t wait to come back, one night was not enough!
