Beautiful and peaceful basement unit. Central to the various entrances to Voyageurs, with Kabetogama just a five minute drive. So convenient! Gorgeous property with sky watching from the dock for dawn, dusk, and stars. Lots of space with the king bed being the most comfortable. Loved the dishwasher and sofa recliners. Very comfortable. Such a peaceful property. Very helpful, friendly owners who were available when we needed but gave us plenty of space.

This house was great for exploring the voyageurs region. The community is very friendly. The house was as described and we loved the historic home with great updates. There were 5 of us and it was the perfect size. Some reviews mentioned the noise from the trains, but none of our group found them to be a problem. We battled mosquitoes quite a bit (even a few in the house), but apparently this is one of the worst years for mosquitos and we hit it in their prime season.

This cabin was wonderful. It fulfilled our needs while we were visiting family in the area. Location on the lake provided some beautiful sunsets. The host was great for communication. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pristine little cabin at an awesome resort with lots of stuff to do for adults and kids alike.

Beautiful place and very well maintained. Kathy has well thought out everything that a guest could need and prepared well for it. There are detailed instructions for everything. We went in the winter and it was a winter wonderland. Got lucky and saw some deer right in the backyard. The sauna was a treat to use after the harsh cold as well. We didn’t get around to using the hot tub. The kitchen is well stocked with basic supplies, really feels like you’re a guest in someone’s home. Kathy is very responsive and the location is quiet. A perfect break. Thank you for having us.

This space was absolutely spectacular. The photos do not do it justice in any way. I’ve never seen a view as amazing as this from a place I was staying in. It’s worth it for the view alone, then add onto that a Sauna, fireplace, big beautiful clean interior space, and too many more things to list. Also, and this is not a small thing, it is stocked VERY well. This is not an AirBnb that the owner buys, throws a couple pans and plates in, and rents it out. Significant care was put into thinking about what the needs of a guest are. It might not seem like a big deal, but a bedside lamp and side table when you’re reading in bed, big bowls for popcorn, rice cooker, crock pot… you name it. Our stay here was really something special. Can’t wait to go back.

Our cabin at the Citadel Retreat was perfect as a north country outpost. It was well put together, not overly furnished but perfectly equipped for being comfortable during our multi-day stay. Grahame is a delight to communicate and work with -- super knowledgeable, always to the point + fun. We enjoyed exploring Pinus Lake by canoe and also visiting other sights in the area via a short drive. One shouldn't come to the Citadel if one's expectation is for a degree of pampering in the arrangements .. but if you're up for being comfortable + in close touch with the lake country environment this is a great place to be.

We absolutely adored this home, land location and the owners. The house was filled with everything and anything you could need. Beds were comfy and the yard, gardens, small private beach and lake were amazing. Jeani and Randy were so kind and thoughtful and their communication was top notch even reaching out to give us an update on the storm that came through, northern lights and harvest moon. Randy was there to meet us and even helped us unload. They had a ton of material for the surrounding areas. We drove up to Voyageurs NP - all of them, Crane Lake and Vermilion Falls, traveled over to do activities in Ely and Tower. They do live onsite but up on top of a hill and we never saw them. We also took the kayaks on the lake. Ducks come to visit several times a day. The neighbors are very friendly, there are trees on both sides so you don't see much. Home is on a dead end road so you can walk dogs without any traffic. Internet speed is great. We would absolutely stay here again.

Best Airbnb ever! I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. They thought of everything and I felt at peace. Do you need to communicate with and extremely accommodating. Totally worth it, if you are debating between this one and another, don’t hesitate. I am gluten-free, but couldn’t resist a nibble of that delicious looking bread! 🤩 Thank you so much for everything!
