6 families met together here for 6 days and we found The Grange to be a good size for us. There’s an enclosed garden big enough for 5 children and 2 dogs to play in. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking. There are plenty of places to visit with the children. All in all we had a lovely week.

Gorgeous place to stay. Views from every window. Expect family ducks, chickens and peacock to pay you a visit, and if you hear snoring, it’s probably the large pig outside the window!

Back from a 4 night stay at Callow Barn. An outstanding property, immaculate and very spacious with the most spectacular views across the valley. Very well equipped and comfortable. We loved the rural setting,watching the lambs play and pheasant visits. Even saw a deer. The host is very helpful and informative. My friends and I agree that this is our favourite property that we have stayed.The area is stunning,so much to see and do without traveling miles.

We had a lovely stay on Neil's farm. The house is comfortable and the scenery is stunning. Neil is very welcoming and knowledgable, he took the time to show us around the farm and answer all our questions about farming life. He was also very kind to our two year old daughter and she loved her time on the farm.

My daughters (13 & 9) and I loved this place! Beautiful modern cottage design, spotlessly clean, lovely touches like fresh sourdough bread, eggs laid by the chickens that live outside the front and milk, coffee and jam all left for us. Comfy beds. Met by Naomi and Neil who were very friendly and helped with advice on walks…. Because that’s the most outstanding feature - the location is incredible. Surrounded by hills, each window is like a postcard view. You can walk right out of the back of the house, up to Hollins Cross on the ridge and turn right for Mam Tor and left to Lose Hill or straight over to Castleton, all of which we did. This was a beautiful home in a beautiful spot, and it even had a field of one week old baby lambs next door - idyllic. We will be back I’m sure. Thank you.

This cottage was perfect for us - 2 couples with small children. Louise gave us loads of information before we arrived, and her husband greeted us shortly after we arrived. It was such an easy stay with small children, we had everything we needed, and the stair gate made life so easy! There were lots of lovely touches like providing snacks, coffee and jams. And Louise even provided some glasses for the solar eclipse!! The surroundings are really peaceful and the kids loved the 2 Shetland ponies in the field opposite. There are lots of options for walks from the cottage, or a short drive away. The Black Lion pub did a great roast dinner. I found there was so much thought put into the stay and Louise was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

This is a lovely property exactly as described in a great location and great for exploring the beautiful Peak District - Nicola was very welcoming and friendly - wouldn't hesitate in recommending.

What an amazing place. Exactly as described. Lovely welcoming touches such as coffee/tea, etc and cheeky bottle of wine! Perfect for our little getaway trip to climb Kinder Scout and explore the nearby B29 bomber plane wreckage. We were a couple and a teenager and dog. Great, unique accommodation and had everything we needed, including amazing underfloor heating in the shower room to soothe our aching feet! Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to explore this area of the Peaks.

Brilliant place to explore Curbars Edge and other walks. House was very clean and really nice with a comfy bed and well decorated. I would very much recommend it

Beautiful little cottage which worked well for our family of 2 adults, 2 children and a dog. Great location across the road from a cafe and a few minutes walk from a pub. Lots of lovely walks to do from the cottage and easy to park. Cottage was very well equipped, fire was great and thank so much for the welcome pack for us and the dog! Lovely little terrace to watch the sun set from.

What a great find. Perfect location for peaceful walks with my Dalmatian Daisy. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard with plenty of room and felt secure and safe. Most important to me was that it was dog friendly and it really was. Daisy had her own secure area to play in and this is just so helpful. Hosts are friendly and the info provided to help you to find the place is excellent, also lots of info in the accommodation about the local area. Would definitely recommend and also would love to stay again for a longer break.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Stable. It is full of character & expensively kitted out: seating & bedding so comfortable & everything immaculate. Val was always quick to respond & so helpful: we followed her suggestions of where to eat locally (recommend the Prince of Wales in Baslow & The Packhorse at Longstone) and we were very grateful for the ordinance survey maps & folder of walk guides etc. A shout out too for the incredible gift shop in Culvar, a walk downhill by the river- it’s a treasure trove! There’s a beautiful river walk along the Derwent from Culvar to Froggatt then cross to the other side to walk back. Beautiful! Thank you Val for a super holiday and for the generous goodies you left for us; much appreciated.

If you're considering this, just book it! Great place, warm and clean with everything you could need. We felt very welcome, beautiful farm with animals and an orchard. Setting is great, 25 mins to Sheffield but 30 seconds to incredible countryside. If you want a relaxed place to explore the peaks, this ticks all the boxes. Already thinking about returning.

We had such a fantastic stay! The barn was absolutely beautiful — even better than we expected — and the hosts were truly lovely and incredibly accommodating. The location was perfect, just a short drive to Alton Towers, which made everything so easy for us. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and were super responsive to anything we needed. We honestly couldn’t fault a thing and would 100% love to come back again! Thank you so much for everything!

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. We felt at home in the cottage and had a lovely relaxing time for oursleves and my brother and law and his wife. Everything we wanted was to hand, we cooked one night and went to the Cheshire Cheese pub (only a couple of minutes walk away) for a great meal on the second night. Communication with Chris was great ahead of our visit and we saw him for a chat while we were there, a great friendly host. Despite poor weather we still got a good walk on the hills. We're so happy and relaxed after a lovely weekend and thoroughly recommend The Oaks / Barn at Mead Farm. Noel.

Fantastic value for money, a peaceful, unspoilt location with food and walks on your doorstep- no driving required. Lots of personal touches including the welcome basket and the dog box which made us feel at home from the start. Pru and Chris are fantastic hosts striking the perfect balance between helpful and friendly but also providing privacy and space. Some extra special touches were the gin and fizz shed, providing a tranquil end to a relaxing day, overlooking the hills. We took full advantage of the option of a home cooked meal on our first night which was delicious and delivered right to our door. A nearby, dog friendly pub provided an excellent meal for our second night. A perfect get away for 2 busy people and a nervous pooch who loved the open space to run around on, right on our doorstep. We would highly recommend visiting the cottage for a comfortable nights sleep, good food and a peaceful, yet beautiful back drop.

We have just come back from a wonderful week at Stoop Farm. We were here as a family of 6, mum, dad and two siblings plus husbands/wives and 2 babies and it was ideal with all the bedrooms being ensuite. The rooms were all spacious, and the lounge/dining area was lovely and sunny. The kitchen was a little small and the dishwasher was only a small one considering it is a house for 6 people, but Richard left plenty of dishwasher tablets so that was fine. The house was lovely and clean, and Richard had left a selection of local food for us to enjoy - cheese, bread, milk, oatcakes, butter, etc. The views from the house were magnificent, and we were exceptionally lucky with the beautiful weather. The house is situated in a very quiet location down a track. There are walks from the doorstep, and Buxton is a nice old fashioned town with a lovely park, and is only a short drive away. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Amazing value for money for what you get. Full amenities, spacious rooms throughout. Lovely outdoor area. Great host. Nice area for exploring the Peak District. Went with my toddler and had everything we needed. Overall highly recommend this stay and Carolyn as host!

Brilliant place and great location! Hilary and Mark (and Dexter) were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home straight away. The stable was perfect with everything we could need for our stay. The village itself has much to offer, with plenty of pubs and places to eat, as well as amazing walks and views. Hope to stay again in the future!

An excellent location and property. Our third stay at Norma’s cottage. The cottage has everything we need in an idyllic spot surrounded by fields and hills. The sitting room and beds are comfortable and the kitchen functional and clean. We will return. Recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful break.

Second time staying at Sam’s place. Fantastic stay once again. Lovely location, great space with comfortable amenities…the hot tub is a huge bonus too!

Sophie's place was absolutely perfect for our meet up with friends for a weekend. everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. The kitchen was well stocked and had enough room for all 8 of us plus toddler, and the two main bedrooms were very spacious. Having two bathrooms and a downstairs wc was ideal for our two young families. The garden was lovely and would be even better in the summer, being able to use the patio and BBQ, and relax in the idyllic surroundings. We hope to be back soon!
