Welcome to 'Tales of 1943' A property where 3-generations of my family were raised and today has been converted & renovated with modern and stylish interiors and amenities for you to experience. Located in the heart of Shillong city, this independent Assam-type home has been around for more than 80 years and is perfect for anyone looking for an escape. With timber-framed walls, slanting roofs, wooden floors, and a cozy fireplace in each room, this home is the perfect encapsulation of Shillong.

The pool is a rainwaterharvesting unit and fresh water may not be available/feasible for swimming purposes all the time!

Hike to double decker bridge & Rainbow Falls (15mins drive) or Ummanoi bridge (10mins). Be blown away by this areas awesome mountain vistas overlooking Bangladesh & magnificent waterfalls. The AirBnB is 45mins drive from Cherra/Sohra. NO MEALS provided. Two restaurants nearby and third in Nongwar 10mins drive.
