The Big 8 offers 8 acres of peace. It is located in a ranching town in western Colorado, with access to Crawford State Park, where you can swim, fish, paddle, and enjoy the views of the Gunnison National Forest. The Black Canyon is nearby, with more spectacular views, hiking trails. The nearby towns of Paonia and Hotchkiss offer a variety of restaurants and music venues, along with the local Bar and Grill, where you can mingle with the locals. Want to bring your horses? Stylish charm with two sleeping options. Queen bed on main level of tiny cottage or a lofted sleeping space up a ships ladder, boasts a new Queen Nectar Mattress. Up the ladder sleeping loft is only for the fit and adventurous. Must be comfortable on your knees due to low headroom situation. Lovely park like setting with outside BBQ Grill. Kitchenette is pretty well outfitted. Tiny Cottage has plenty of charm and comforts. Groovy wooden beads across bathroom door so not a ton of privacy.

In the summer help yourself to our lush garden with plenty of raspberries, apples, almonds, peaches, and more. In the winter, enjoy the cozy gas fireplace in the living room. Solar panels on the roof will offset any electricity you use. A work station with views of the quiet garden and 150mbps fiber internet will enable you to work or attend school remotely.

Stay at Western Culture Farmstead & Creamery. Enjoy an intimate goating experience at a working goat farm & creamery. You will have an entire apartment with private entrance. It is a spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bath with partial kitchen. Includes a large covered patio with a grill and lovely views. Western Culture Farmstead is located 1 mile outside of Paonia, close enough to ride your bike. Enjoy some private time hanging out with the goats, they are very therapeutic & love a snuggle!

Minnesota creek runs through the farm; we are right on the edge of town, adjacent to Juniper & Sage hills with views of beautiful snow-capped mountains . And ... we have decent fiber internet for Zooming!

The Bus at Needle Rock

Come explore quiet Colorado country in our totally renovated school bus. My friend converted it to a "skoolie" in the 80’s and lived in it for years in the mountains. After moving it here to Crawford, we’ve been hard at work with a full remodel. It is still a rustic retreat, but it features running hot and cold water, electricity, and a composting toilet. You won’t forget the peaceful surroundings of this unique getaway, 30 minutes from the north rim of the Black Canyon.
