We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at the Castaway. The house is well organized and very clean. We spent hours at the beach with private accessibility which was great. Hot tub was a treat. We will definitely return.

This home is so sweet and surrounded by so many beautiful trees. The hosts are super kind. The home has a nice large yard for dogs, which was great. Gualala is a beautiful small town that makes a great get away from cities. Thank you!

This is a stunning location. Between the views, the sight of birds, the sunsets. So lovely. We really appreciated the fenced yard for the dogs. The house was well stocked. Having a beach right at our feet was great! But most of all we were so enchanted by the quiet peacefulness.

I plan on staying here again in the future. I needed a much needed local getaway to reset from the hustle and bustle of every day life. This delivered and more. Every day was a struggle to want to leave the house because the views were absolutely breath-taking. Since food options are limited in the surrounding areas, I recommend getting groceries before hand because you'd want to cook and share meals at this house. I'm itching to go back as soon as I can!

Great place to stay for a weekend or an extended stay, great local beachs with even more in a short drive. Felt right at home and will definitely be staying again!

We hand a great time at the cottage. Very cute, great views, and the dog accommodations were so sweet (they provide a dog bed, doggie bag leash clip on, bowls, dog towel and a frisbee).

Great experience overall!! It was amazing getting to wake up and see giraffes feeding ever day. I would definitely recommend booking a guided tour as the animals are amazing and the staff are super knowledgeable and kind! I would recommend making it an unplugged trip as data is spotty and the WiFi isn’t the best.

Well appointed comfortable cabin that we felt right at home in. The yard was perfect for the dogs and the hot tub was clean and most relaxing. Walkable to downtown Gualala and a great place to venture from.

What a gem of a place! Dominic is a very thoughtful host and has created an oasis close to downtown Boonville. There are so many thoughtful touches to make your stay seem very special. It felt more like a boutique hotel than an Airbnb. Our dog loved exploring the beautiful garden and we loved how peaceful the setting was. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the porch and watched the sun set over the hills. Can’t wait to visit again.

My family and I had an incredible stay at Gower’s Airbnb. Honestly, it was even nicer than I expected. This property offers a true California experience that’s incredibly hard to find. I’ve driven along Highway 1 many times, always thinking how amazing it would be to spend time on that beautiful coastal land you see from the road, and this property delivers exactly that. We had lunch and dinner overlooking sweeping views of untouched coastline and the beach below. There’s an easy path down to what felt like a private beach (we didn’t see another soul the entire time), and we spent hours exploring the black sand, walking the shore, and checking out the tide pools at low tide. The whole time, I kept thinking how rare and unspoiled this experience is. Gower has created an incredible home, thoughtfully designed with all the comforts you could want right in the middle of some of the most beautiful land in the world. We’re already talking about when we can come back.

Such a beautiful and peaceful retreat! Our dogs had a blast running around off leash on the hiking trail (the first part of the trail is steep but our dog with arthritis managed it just fine) and the house was incredibly well stocked and clean. Jeff and Trey were always very responsive and so friendly. I’m so glad this was our first trip with our newborn!

Great place to stay with our chihuahuas. Great neighborhood to walk in with them. No gated yard but our dogs have fine recall. Would recommend for families. Large spacious house with the essentials and a beautiful view of the water.

Jacquelyn’s Charming Cottage on the Mendocino Coast was exactly that. We fell in love upon entering the home and you can feel how much care they put into creating this special space. The local recommendations were perfect, the location was beautiful and we feel grateful we were able to make memories here.

We enjoyed our time here. It is very rural, quiet and peaceful. Laytonville is a small town so the grocery store is very basic. It is only about 10 minutes away and open until 11. We were traveling with small children and arrived later in the day. The kids were hot and hungry and we had not had a chance to get food. The woman handling check in had a plate of fruit and was incredibly gracious to share to help keep them going until we could run in and grab groceries. She also called ahead to confirm how late they would be open. (4th of July) The walk to the private lake is not difficult and there are multiple kayaks you can use. In addition, it was during an incredible heatwave and there were regular check-ins to make sure all was well and everyone had water. There is no air conditioning but there are many fans that helped it cool off at night. Any issues or concerns were dealt with timely and appropriately. The service was truly above and beyond.

I go hiking in this region several times a year and thus have stayed in various places; this place is one of the best. It's clean, in a quiet location (bring your own supplies / food), directions to the place are accurate (write them down), getting inside is a no brainer, everything works in the house; excellent.

Cozy intimate location

The cottage was beautiful, clean, spacious and provided a much needed getaway. Excellent accommodations, accommodating staff, and perfect location!

The Cottages was a delightful stay for a long weekend. Everything was exactly as described in the Airbnb listing. From the beginning of my inquiry, information about our Cottage was accurately described and the booking of the reservation could not have been easier. Throughout the 7 week period between booking and occupancy, Airbnb made numerous contacts with me by text and email, including a personal phone call several days before our arrival confirmaing all was well and offering to answer any questions or clarify anything that may have come up. The room was ready when we arrived and was spotless. It was cozy with an outstanding view of Little River cove. Amenities were appropriate and plentiful. Entry to and exist from the room was all done by keypad, which we found very, very helpful - no misplaced keys, etc. Parking was very close to our unit and reserved specifically for us, so no worrying about scrambline for available spaces. We can't wait to return.

The Cottage in Little River was a beautiful cozy stop on our Northern California road trip! We would absolutely stay here again as it was a perfect spot for two couples and the location was close to many great hikes and activities.

Perfect spot for exploring the Mendocino area!

We had a great stay, check in and check out was very simple and easy. The property was beautiful and it’s in a great location (walking distance to town and amazing views). It was private and quiet. It had great WiFi and everything else we could need. Our only problem was it was very cold, not sure if it was our problem that we couldn’t figure out the heater, but other than that everything was more than what we could’ve asked for.

This was the perfect place for our Christmas vacation with our two kitties. Very clean and comfortable, had everything we needed and our kitties loved all the windows and the warmth of the fireplace. Will definitely be back!

Quail Cottage was exactly what we needed. It's super private and the view is beautiful. Inside you'll find everything you'll need for your stay, everything was clean and decorated super cute. The bed was so comfortable. You're far enough away for privacy, but still close enough to enjoy restaurants and the beaches. I can't wait to come back for another stay. Thank you for creating such a beautiful getaway.
