Wow, we booked this Airbnb quite spontaneously because we needed a weekend retreat away and this delivered! Admittedly, you do need to be prepared that it’s not the easiest place to get to - but we packed light and had plenty of hands to get the groceries brought over. In the end;however, with a bit of planning, it was no issue at all getting there with our toddler and baby. And the location absolutely delivered! It was just what we needed to be in an undisturbed, peaceful setting to unwind from the busyness of everyday life. And the views are amazing!! As disclosed, a few elements of this house aren’t renovated (bathrooms), so if this is ever done then it will help elevate the house as well. I wasn’t aware that it was a two story house - which for us was perfect as we stayed below and my parents stayed above and gave us each some separate living space. I’d absolutely recommend Carmen’s place if you are looking for a true Swiss retreat that’s off the beaten path!

Prachtig uitzicht op Engelberg centrum en de mooie bergen. Knusse ruimte, warm en gezellig. Korte afstand naar centrum en skibus. Comfortabele bedden. Prima keuken. Flexibele aankomsttijd, snel reagerende host. Gehorig als er bovenburen zijn maar die hadden wij maar 1 nacht. Daarna doodse stilte en heel rustig. Wij hebben het heel fijn gehad. Er waren iets te weinig handdoeken aanwezig maar de eigenaar heeft beloofd dat hij er meer zal verstrekken in het vervolg).

a very cozy apartment with a well equipped kitchen. refrigerator, microwave, toaster and filter coffee machine were there too. towels were changed once per a week on Wednesday and garbage bins were emptied too. this service was very convenient for us.

Un posto magnifico, la cartolina della Svizzera! Abbiamo passato i giorni di Pasqua in famiglia, ideale per i bambini e per le grandi compagnie! Tutto molto organizzato, un’esperienza fantastica!

Ein Ort voller Liebe zur Natur...Andreas und Christine sind wundervolle Gastgebeber, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns ausserordendlich wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Unterkunft war wie beschrieben, und der Hotpot und Sauna waren das absolute Highligt. Wir können es zu 100% weiteremfpehlen und werden selbst sehr gerne wiederkommen! Vielen Dank für alles :)

This place was perfect for our family. There are two separate entrances so one room is private from the other two. The views are AMAZING. It does require some coordination if you want to go into town as the train only runs about every hour, but we found the surroundings well worth the effort. The hot tub was so nice in the evenings, just plan to start the fire early as it takes a bit to heat up. Also HIGHLY recommend getting farm fresh eggs/milk/butter. It was super reasonable and so convenient to have it dropped at the house. Host were also very communicative which I appreciated. Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you want peace and gorgeous surroundings.

We had a magical week at Thomas’s place. The place was perfect in every way with the most beautiful views of the valley, wonderfully cozy and well appointed space. The sauna was definitely a perk! Thomas was an amazing host, went above and beyond, giving us the friendliest welcome and great recommendations. One of the best hosts we’ve encountered during our years with Airbnb! And Engelberg is a wonderful place, especially for families. The whole town is very child friendly in terms of the restaurants, playgrounds, and accessibility. We spent the whole time at Brunni which was perfect for our toddler in terms of bunny slopes and playgrounds (and a few blue and red runs for us). We took the bus a block from the apartment to the train station, then a quick transfer to a second bus, on the slopes in less than 15 minutes! Brunni has lockers so we stored all our equipment overnight. Hope we can make it back to Engelberg next season and stay at Thomas’s place!

Superb view. Great location. Easy public transportation to Zurich and all of central Switzerland. Convenient parking. Patrick, as host, is gracious, responsive, and very helpful with activity suggestions.

Our group of four had a wonderful stay at this apartment. Each of us slept comfortably, and we were all amazed by the stunning views and serene neighborhood. The apartment was even more beautiful than the photos suggested. Located in a peaceful and safe area, it provided a perfect escape, yet was still close to local attractions. The host was very attentive, making our stay easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

It was a marvellous expierience to witness the serene landacapes and the natural beauty of Switzerland. We were warmly welcomed by the house owner, Theres and had no inconveniences throughout the entire visit. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the beauty of Swiss.

If you want to stay in a traditional historic Swiss farmhouse this really is the place for you. Yes, the floorboards creak and the ceilings are low, but nothing you wouldn't expect in a building of this age. It is well described and accurate. The views across the lake to the Rigi are breathtaking. It would be possible to simply sit all day and look out of the window. The accommodation has a lovely modern bathroom, is well equipped and as described. It is up a small private road which would be easy to miss if you didn't follow the clear instructions. Highly recommend a stay here. Jürg is lovely and the surroundings are simply gorgeous.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche auf der Rigi. Das Chalet ist super gelegen, ruhig und mit toller Aussicht, trotzdem ist man schnell im Dorfladen oder am Bahnhof. Sandra ist freundlich und gut erreichbar, sowie überaus hilfsbereit auch bei Sonderwünschen! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Haus ist wunderschön und idyllisch im Wald gelegen. Es ist nur zu Fuss erreichbar und wirklich ein einzigartiges Juwel. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen, die Küche ist mit allem eingerichtet, was das Herz begehrt. Der Gastgeber Guido ist persönlich zum Check-in erschienen, hat mit dem Gepäck geholfen und war äusserst freundlich und sympathisch. Wir empfehlen das Haus jedem Naturliebhaber und freuen uns schon jetzt auf unseren nächsten Besuch! Vielen Dank Guido und Familie!

Der kleine Ort Emmetten ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Aktivitäten. Wanderungen z.B. zum Wasserfall im Kohlbachtal können von der Haustür gestartet werden und gleich gegenüber befindet sich der Landeplatz der Gleitschirmflieger. Hinauf geht es mit Gondel ca. 1500 m. Wir haben den Flug sehr genossen! Er dauerte ca. 15 Minuten. Bis zum Vierwaldstättersee mit seinem klaren, blauen Wasser fährt man ca. 10 Minuten. Das Badi Rütinen gefiel uns sehr gut. Am Abend hat man einen wunderbaren Blick über den See von der Terasse aus, während die Sonne hinter den Bergen untergeht. Die Unterkunft ist urig und gemütlich. Die neue Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig. Es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub.

We had a wonderful couple of days at Rita's vacation apartment, with her warm and calm personality she made us feel very welcome. Our kids loved the tree house, the pool and the animals and we all want to go back!

Wir ( eine Familie mit 8 Erwachsen und drei Kindern) trafen uns bei Sarah, war kamen aus verschiedenen Ecken in der Schweiz um ein gemeinsames Wochenende zu verbringen. Wir haben es sehr genossen. Sarah hat uns sehr freundlich mit einem Bier für ein Plauderstündchen empfangen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das urchige Haus nur weiterempfehlen.

Unkomplizierte Wohnung, gute Lage. Sehr wertschätzende Kommunikation mit Gastgeber.

Un soggiorno immerso nella natura, struttura piccola ma accogliente con tutto il necessario. Abbiamo passato 4 giorni con la nostra famiglia (una bimba di 4 anni ed un bimbo di 1 anno). Claudia é un host super carina e disponibile. Consiglio questo alloggio. Top

Neujahr habe ich mit meinen Freunden in dieser wundervollen Unterkunft verbracht. Die Aussicht war so wunderschön und der Aussenbereich viel grösser als gedacht. In der Unterkunft war alles nötige vorhanden und es war sehr ordentlich und sauber. Die Gastgeberin konnten wir jederzeit kontaktieren. Sehr freundlich. Würden jederzeit wieder kommen! Danke
