Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Make you trip to Edinburgh truly memorable with a stay at Craigiehall Temple. Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". Eskfield, spa cottage with private walled garden

Stay here in one of the most important features of the Penicuik Designed Landscape, a Palladian house built in 1714, harboured within a one and a half hectare walled garden. Relax in a modern home on our 20 hectare (50 acre) working organic farm just a few miles south of the Edinburgh city bypass. The apartment includes 3 rooms with a private external entrance and a locked internal door if needed. The single bedroom is ensuite; the other main room is a living space with a kitchenette and large sofa bed. We are close to the route south / north too and from Edinburgh but far enough away (1.5km) to not get interrupted by road / traffic noise.
